Person 1: The poo face cow who told my ds off for touching things in a shop after I had told him off and moved him away.

Person 2: The woman in front of us on the bus this morning who kept saying my ds ought to have a chocolate biscuit, not raisins, making him really upset when he was quite happy with the raisins. She than had the cheek to say to me that it's parents who are the problem, not the child! WTF?

Ds is 21 mths, btw.
I am not pre-menstrual, btw, lol!

I had the same in a shop recently with dd2. It was a TOY shop! Ffs!

nickytwotimes · 11/05/2008 19:01

I wouldn't mind if it wasn't for the fact that he'd been told off and moved away. Silly woman.

Like the name, pp!

yes

yes however the parents are the problem not the child - but i don't know why that woman said that in no context at all - v. strange

nickytwotimes · 11/05/2008 19:04

Yes, rather out of context. Perhaps she'd read it in the Daily Mail and had been waiting for a chance to use it all day?

YAmostcertainlyNBU!
The second woman was clearly mad. I bet if your DS had been eating a chocolate biscuit she would have criticised that as well.
And as for the woman in the toy shop...well, I dunno! What on earth is the point of telling him when he had stopped already and you had dealt with it? Strange lady. Some people take their kids into toy shops to let them play with the toys (not me, BTW!) - what would she do then? Have a heart attack? Actually, she'd probably enjoy telling them off!

frecklyspeckly · 11/05/2008 21:36

Person no 1 - Reminds me of time when ds had just started walking and sat down on ledge in a toyshop/partyshop in bay window area... woman started freaking out that he might 'smash the window and it costs a lot of money'. Oddball . How can people not like kids yet have a toyshop?

She went bust and shut down a year later, which was a comfort.

Person no 2 -just a weirdo!!!

vannah · 11/05/2008 21:41

youre crossing paths with some very unfortunate women nicky...

edam · 11/05/2008 21:45

lol at 'she went bust... which was a comfort'! Actually I can see how you could have a toyshop and not like children - you might just really, really like toys yourself. But it would be daft, clearly.

Horrible people, nicky, don't waste your time worrying about them.

paros · 11/05/2008 21:51

But thats like being a vegetarian and owning a butchers. LOL

edam · 11/05/2008 21:58

I bet there are a lot of shopkeepers who resent their customers, tbh. For coming in and taking the special things of the shop a la League of Gentlemen. After all, there are plenty of doctors, nurses, teachers etc. etc. who give the impression things would run so much more smoothly if it weren't for all these blasted patients or pupils...

frecklyspeckly · 11/05/2008 22:08

LOL to League of Gentlemen reference Edam I keep meaning to get dvds - bits I have seen look so funny. Sorry to hijiack!

lucyellensmum · 11/05/2008 22:08

i had to bite my tongue in a charity shop once, the manager, quite a young woman as apposed to old biddy, said very assertively to my DD (2.5) To come out from under the clothes rails. I had already called her because we were leaving, but the woman said, "come out from umder there"......had she said nothing my DD would have come along, as it was DD was huddled underneath hiding her face (very shy at first), the woman still insisted on interfering when i went to retrieve her - i just said "Well she clearly isnt going to come out for you", thankfully she took the hint, DD was getting upset and that may have resulted in my getting a police caution, my hands were itching........oooh, it was weeks ago and im getting cross just thinking about it.

edam · 11/05/2008 23:02

You got a police caution for trying to get your dd out from under a clothes rail in a charity shop?

molecularbreakdown · 11/05/2008 23:03

Noooo - she wanted to twat the other woman!

micci25 · 11/05/2008 23:08
