Would you forgive a drunken kiss? Danny/Maura

Sadly seen the Danny/Maura incident. Really feel for his wife as I’ve been there. Dh confessed to me he had had a drunken snog at his works Xmas do. Very humiliating. I would have probably divorced him if we didn’t have kids. It was really painful given it was “only” a kiss. I remember just thinking how dare you. We all go out with friends and speak to members of the opposite sex who want to try it on. But there’s something called self restraint.

Yes i would forgive as long as it was a kiss and never happened again

years ago he went to vegas on a stag do and i told him that he had to tell me everything as I would be furious if i found out another way

tallhotpinkflamingo · 03/03/2025 13:35

It wouldn't bother me, people are very dramatic.

Cloudyvibes · 03/03/2025 13:35

For me personally no I couldn’t forgive a drunken kiss, but everyone is different and like already mentioned some have forgiven and have carried on in happy relationships for many years which is great but being in the public eye and the world knowing what has happened must make it harder to decide what to do.

snotathing · 03/03/2025 13:35

Not with Maura Higgins. I'd have no respect for him afterwards.

HelenWheels · 03/03/2025 13:38

he is in the public eye, he is a big character
they both love themselves
a whole different ball game to my life

HelenWheels · 03/03/2025 13:39

i hope she apologised to richard coles Wink

Bogginsthe3rd · 03/03/2025 13:42

As a wise ancient philosopher once said,
It started out with a kiss
How did it end up like this?
It was only a kiss
It was only a kiss

Now I'm falling asleep
And she's calling a cab
While he's having a smoke
And she's taking a drag

Now they're going to bed
And my stomach is sick
And it's all in my head

FlyingontheGround · 03/03/2025 13:43

Loads of adultery in my family, it’s so destructive, I used to say you don’t know what you’d do til you’re in the situation but now I’d say no I wouldn’t forgive it, definitely not. Danny’s wife deserves better.

LadyEstrellaDellaheugh · 03/03/2025 13:43

Nope. You just know this is the female friend he's been telling his wife not to worry about.... they were in the jungle together, it's a bit like ex colleagues in many respects. It's quite clearly a kiss and makes it so much worse that it's out there in the public. I wouldn't forgive it at all

Upthebridges · 03/03/2025 13:44

Yes, I would. And honestly, it wouldn't be something I would dwell on, I would get over quickly. However though, after watching the video, I do not believe this is 'one off drunken kiss territory' to be honest. I think there is a chance they have been sleeping together.

DancingLions · 03/03/2025 13:44

The one and only time I was tempted to kiss someone drunk (while not single) was when I was very unhappy in my relationship. To my mind, no one is tempted to kiss another person if they're truly happy in their relationship. So I would want to know "why" it happened.

If you don't know the why, then how can the person promise they won't do it again?

TheIceBear · 03/03/2025 13:45

such drama I don’t know these people but having it plastered all over the tabloids is worse than the kiss itself I think.
If it were a random person in a club I would be more forgiving than if the kiss was between 2 people that know each other

Lissmill39 · 03/03/2025 13:45

Nope

Upthebridges · 03/03/2025 13:46

Too add onto my answer (can't work out how to edit!) If I found out DH had kissed someone while drunk, I wouldn't be concerned by the kiss itself, as much as I would be about the amount he had drunk, and why he would get himself into such a state in the first place.

PrincessScarlett · 03/03/2025 13:55

Danny is a first class dickhead. All that hard work in the jungle he did to come across as a family man who missed his wife and kid so much.

If I were his wife I would be wondering if any feelings developed in the jungle to lead to such a public kiss. His poor wife ☹️

cramptramp · 03/03/2025 13:55

Why is Maura Higgins even at the Brits? Why was she at the MOBO's, the Fashion Awards and the BAFTAs? She's a talentless nobody who is fast catching up to Lizzie Cundy in the I'll go to the opening of an envelope award. I wouldn't end the marriage over the kiss, but I'd never ever forgive. And I'd make his life very uncomfortable for quite a while. What an idiot Danny is.

RIPVPROG · 03/03/2025 13:57

No because how would you ever know it was only a kiss, or even if it was that it was only once? If he's kissed over person who else has he kissed, he's late home and you can't help but overthink it, is he really working late, is that really his boss that's texting him ad infinitum. Marriage isn't marriage without trust. I have been called a cool wife on here before, I'm not but there is trust in my relationship and DH knows one incident would be the end. I'm not the forgiving kind.

Deathraystare · 03/03/2025 13:57

I would always think "What if it was the other way around and you doing the kissing" Would he be forgiving??

NeedToChangeName · 03/03/2025 13:58

I wouldn't forgive or forget that, no

whatnooow · 03/03/2025 13:59

Oh no 🤦🏻‍♀️ what a knob.

I couldn't forgive this being in the public eye. He's humiliated his wife.

XiCi · 03/03/2025 14:02

This is crazy. The article says he leaned in and pecked her briefly before leaving the venue. What a stupid fuss about nothing. Totally unfair to his family to make a drama out of that.

Gloriia · 03/03/2025 14:02

Didn't look like a drunkern kiss to me. They look very relaxed together what with her head on his shoulder too.
What a stupid man, obviously there'd be cameras everywhere.
It's always the nice allegedly happily married ones too.

whatnooow · 03/03/2025 14:03

There's obviously something going on because they're both not that drunk, and you can see there's emotion behind the kiss.

Orrr I'm really disappointed in Danny.

Like I know him 😂 but still. I feel so sorry for Mrs. Danny. She must be so upset and embarrassed

Auldy · 03/03/2025 14:06

They did it so openly and brazenly that I suspect he and his wife have separated and they are together. If that's not the case then no, I wouldn't forgive and forget. Some people might see it as "just a kiss" but for me it is a blatant act of disrespect for me and our shared family. I don't believe that drunkenness is ever an excuse. I have been paralytic and have never kissed another person because I'm married and I love and respect my husband. Now add to the mix that he knows he's in the public eye and this would be a public embarrassment to his wife and children. Its unforgivably disrespectful.

RabbitsRock · 03/03/2025 14:07

I know it’s not the point of the post but I thought she looked awful!
