How can I lose weight FAST?

oopsydaisee · 01/03/2025 10:37

I have 6 weeks to lose an inch or so all around so that I can fit in a dress.
What is the quickest way to do it??
Please don't come at me about fad diets and how it's not sustainable etc, I'm not thinking about that at the moment and just need to lose some pounds.
And I'm asking for options other than weight loss jabs.

Agree. Low carb is essential though. When you drastically cut carbs to less than 20 grams a day, your appetite disappears after about 4 days so it becomes easy to not overeat. Add in some brisk walking (aim for at least 30 mins twice a day) and you should manage that.

Caveat is it depends on how “big” you are - if you are significantly overweight you could lose a stone in 2 weeks but if you are not very overweight and just want to be trimmed, you won’t lose as much.

good luck and let us know how you get on!!

Yes, your beginning size definitely impacts it.

My mum began at 78kg and is now at 64/65kg where she plans to maintain with keto. In total getting to her goal weight took her 18 weeks.

Calorie counting does it. If you stick to 1200-1500 per day only you will start losing weight. If you can also increase activities, like going for a couple of 20 minute brisk walks, that will also help, but its really the calorie reduction that does it.

I lost 30 lbs that way. It took longer than 6 wks, I was losing about 2-3 lbs per week.

You cut out anything that has too much fat or sugar (or alcohol). So you have no bacon or cake or booze, and you look at what you usually eat or like eating and then you just figure out how much of it you can have but with the calorie limit.

This actually works for most people, unless you have some kind of long term illness / deficiencies or medications that make it difficult.

Buy a bigger dress and make a long term plan.

You'll put it back on if you stuff your face, obviously.

The stair mill. It burns calories like a bastard.

Low calorie diet, high protein and exercise.

I would probably try some water tablets the week of the wedding.

Yes, this is the most sensible way. Work out your BMR, eat slightly less than this. As pp said, make the food high protein and try and lower your carbs a bit. Good luck!

Fast 800. Buy the book and then it's pretty straightforward. Walk 10,000 steps a day and add in some HIIT. You will easily lose a few inches.

DazedDragon · 01/03/2025 18:41

20k steps a day and no sugar

bugalugs45 · 01/03/2025 19:39

Clean 9, 9 days detox . You'll get 9lb ish off no problem . Will cost you £100 though

oopsydaisee · 02/03/2025 20:18

Thanks all! Seems to be a bit of majority for Fast800 keto so I'm going to give that a go!
