Heart echo question

Hi!

maybe a bit specific for AIBU but just wondered if anyone was about who could help!

I had an echo recently for my heart and had the results all sent over to me. Thankfully it was all fine. However I’ve just noticed that on the report it mentions my height and weight and both are recorded completely incorrectly (160cm instead of 170cm), (50kg instead of 58kg) is that likely to affect the results? I know the actual pictures of my heart from the echo are obviously unchanged by my height /weight but in terms of the sizes and dimensions and all the measurements they sent me (sizes, volumes etc) of each part of my heart, does height and weight come into it?

I’ve emailed the company who did it so I can double check but just wondered if anyone on here knew in the meantime!

It won't make any difference. The purpose of an echo is to check for abnormalities. Getting your height and weight wrong will have no effect.

I asked my friendly neighbourhood cardiologist and he said -

“When you have an echo done a visual and functional assessment is made. That will not be influenced by your body size, nor will it affect the raw measurements.
Certain measurements though are indexed to your body surface area which is calculated from your weight and height. However, because the errors in your case are small, this is highly unlikely to make any significant difference to your report.”
