I have a toothache which is not that bad but it needs to be looked at because I think it is infected. By way of background I had pain in this tooth about a month ago and went to an emergency dentists who set the tooth has the cavity and that's why it's infected. I was given antibiotics and told I can either have the tooth out or half root canal I have canal before on a different tooth which was fine so I am more than happy to have root canal on this tooth. However it is right at the back of my mouth and my dentist does not feel confident doing canal with their tooth that far back so he has referred me to an endodontist.
I have been waiting for one month and I have not heard anything from the endodontist and now the tooth is painful again because I think it has become reinfected which my own dentist told me it would happen and if that does happen all I do is go back to the dental surgery and get another course of antibiotics. When iPhone my dental receptionists to find out who I have been referred to and could they chase it they said they had no idea they just emailed out the X-Ray and left it at that and it is the other practice which will get in touch with me about an appointment I said surely if I've been referred you must know who you've referred me to and they said we don't know we can ask your dentist so I'm in the hands of my own dentist who will give me the endodontist phone number and I can chase it up because I don't want this to keep reinfecting whilst I wait
