to wonder why my friend half inched some beer from my fridge?

Had a bit of a lunch time party today. First bbq of the year. Not particularly boozy at all, but we'd put some beers in the fridge for those who wanted. Some people enjoyed a larger or two in the sunshine.

One of my friends took some home with her, without saying a word to dp or I! That's a bit odd, isn't it? I was cheerfully sending people home with leftovers, but at no point did I say "oh and help yourself to some unopened booze from the fridge too." It's not that I mind in the slightest - what's a few beers between friends? And if she'd said something I wouldn't find it a bit odd. But it is odd, to just take someone elses beer home in your bag with you, right?

I think it's odd to take home booze you broight with you, let alone some of the hosts...

Very odd, when friends and I have had BBq's there have been times when they're on their way straight home or w/e and might ask the host if they could grab a couple of beers, but never just take.

Absolutely certain Chequers.

TBH I would try my best to forget about it - her actions do sound petty, but I can let stuff like that really wind me up which just gets me all cross and resentful. Just remind yourself people can be a bit weird and a bit crap sometimes! (I know I can )

Drop it in conversation with her next time you see each other i.e. 'remember the bbq last week, some cheeky bugger half inched some beer, how cheeky is that?' and let her squirm!

Flame · 11/05/2008 18:51

How random!

How desparate!

a bit naughty IMO, helping oneself to someone's beer... she could have asked..its not quite the same as taking the leftovers which were destined for the bin anyway...I knew you wouldnt begrudge your friend a beer, but that was cheeky...
