To think that people should keep their voice down to a reasonable volume in public

And when it comes to coffee places, or quiet lounge type establishments the offenders are mostly women 😩
In every group there seems to be a lady that almost screams when laughing, or has an overly high pitched voice shouting over everyone - constantly. Or when two groups of younger women are bumping into each other there is this out of control scream - why, I only want to know why.
Yes, I am writing this while sitting in a cosy brunch place, outside, surrounded by nature, all tables occupied and of course there is that one table with a lady who laughs like crazy screaming to every single sentence the other person at her table is uttering and then she shouts her responses in a high pitch voice, still barely catching her breath screaming...
Many guests are glancing in her direction as she screams - she minds her own business (good for her I guess 😄).
But does this bother people, or just those of us with lack of sleep perhaps 😅
How come people enjoy being the loudest...

Most people are not disabled and are just inconsiderate.

Also most deaf people use BSL and/or lipread. Shouting at them isn't going to help anyway.

Wow, no wonder brits are so incredibly depressed as a whole 😂

I think there is a cultural element. When people are loud on trains, they are foreign more often than not. You do get the British performative braying prick who likes to go on about work, but outside commuter times it will be someone speaking in a foreign language so there's a high chance you can't eavesdrop (and wouldn't know if they were discussing anal, which is one silver lining).

See also Americans, why are they so loud?

You only hear the loud ones and because of the accents they're instantly recognisable. They're not all like that or I'd be deafened.

I think yabu. I am deaf and have been told over and again that I am too loud. I can't hear my volume and have become quite self conscious about it due to ride people commenting. I'd imagine the group of older ladies another poster mentioned may be dealing with the same, or perhaps have partially deaf people in their lives and as such adjust to a higher volume. Live and let live surely?

Op
i don’t see this as rude? My mom is a bit deaf and has developed a tendency to shout particularly when there is background noise. She has told us to make sure we tell her and she resets as the alternative would be to let her shout away and disturb others and she would hate that.
