Aibu not to go back to hairdresser

This is the second time she has do e my hair and I really like how she's done it. She came across really lovely until we somehow got onto the conversation of Donald Trump.
She said she had been asking her clients their thoughts about him and although she thought he was an idiot he would "get stuff done"
Now I didn't know what to say because I didn't want a heated conversation with someone in control of colouring and cutting my hair but I hate Donald Trump with a passion and I hate everything he is doing to America.
I don't know what she meant by get stuff done but it seems she is in favour of what he is doing to the American people. I don't know if I can go back to someone with such horrible views on how people are treated

Newsflash, people can have different opinions!

Clearinguptheclutter · 22/02/2025 16:10

I recall being slightly horrified when I realised my hairdresser was a brexiter, I’m the biggest remainer/remoaner there is

no idea why that’s in bold

I just make sure the conversation is more steered towards love island than Brexit. It’s fine.

Sure, find another hairdresser. They might not cut and colour your hair as well though.

People are entitled to their own opinions btw

Cardinalita90 · 22/02/2025 16:11

I think by not going back for that reason you'd be being quite intolerant. As a PP has said, people can have different views and you don't cancel anyone who disagrees. Just tell her in future you prefer not to discuss politics.

Yanbu. I got rid of a former hair dresser due to awful comments which were racist.

CoastalCalm · 22/02/2025 16:14

I had similar experience but thankfully it was with someone other than my regular hairdresser - I have been back but won’t let her cut my hair again , expressed some really very racist views to me when for all she knew I could have been married to someone of a different race etc

Mittens67 · 22/02/2025 16:14

I think personally I would go elsewhere. If she is raising the subject then do you want to have to listen to her views? Of course everybody has different opinions but she shouldn’t talk about politics to her clients. Or religion.

You can just not go back for whatever reason you want
