Watford WD18 area

Hi mums, we are planning to move from India to cassiobury park Watford. (Wd18) Husband has already relocated last week and I will move with. 12 year and 8 year old next month.

Since all schools in this area are oversubscribed, any feedback or experience on which school the council might allocate us by default. Mainly the secondary school, primary we have some options.

I think you'll just have to move and then apply for schools. You won't know which school you'll actually get until you are resident and apply, because spaces come and go.

You're in a little bit of a black hole for secondaries around Cassiobury Park. Watford Boys is your closest (if your eldest is a boy) but it's part selective and the actual catchment for other spaces is small.

When you get a place, message again maybe.

What year will your 12 yo be going into - year 7 or Year 8?

You might get lucky with a localish school. Probably a Westfield although if that's full you'll likely get allocated somewhere in Mill End or perhaps Hemel Hempstead. Have you spoken with the local authority (Hertfordshire County Council) about your options and what schools have places?

Cassiobury is a lovely area, but very very popular. I'm sure you'll be very happy once you're settled.
