To allow my son to give twitch my Ppsn?

Hi all,

Could I please ask an opinion from all mums who have gamers/knows something about it? My teenage son likes gaming in his free time, mostly on fortnite. He wants to start streaming on twitch, he says he can make money out if it and says they need my PPSN. I'm a bit hesitant about it tbh. Is it safe to give twitch your ppsn? I heard there were question marks about twitch before. Any input would be appreciated!!! He's driving me nuts about it, lol.

This page might help you start researching your question: https://connectsafely.org/twitch/

It's important to find out whether anything your DS earns will count as your earnings for tax purposes, if he uses your PPSN. I'm also not sure what your legal liability is for making sure he abides by community guidelines and so on. You should do some research about these questions, and don't let him use your PPSN until you're confident that you understand what that will mean for you.

I'm sorry that I don't have more useful information to give you, but I hope the link above will at least be a good starting point.

Thank you for your answer. I never actually thought about it affecting my tax. Ya, or if he breaks community guideline's and it's my information he's using. Thanks for that. I might do a bit of research on that. I don't know a lot about streaming, even though I hear it all the time. Thanks for the link! ☺️
