I think it should be the guy from the first series of Bridgerton who left

Leo Woodall is so hot but kind of in a cheeky way - i don't think i can see him as Bond

I think it will be Idris Elba though

James Norton would be amazing! A delicious man and wonderful actor.

Almostwelsh · 22/02/2025 09:20

I like James McAvoy, but he's already 45 and probably also too famous already.

What about Matt Smith?

Absolutely not. He looks like a foot.

So it’s more likely to be in the Jack Lowden, Will Poulter range - someone who’s proved they can act but are not yet household names.

I have to say Will Poulter has had the mightiest glow ups of all glow ups!!

I could see Will in the role too. He's mighty fine, and a very good actor.

Dolphinnoises · 22/02/2025 10:01

Chiwetel Eijiofor ideally, although I can see Theo James. Jonathan Bailey?

DataColour · 22/02/2025 10:47

There's lots of support for Henry Cavill online which I don't get. Sure he looks the part, but he's been Superman, how can he also be James Bond? I can't imagine any actor who's been a well known superhero being JB.

"......He looks like a foot."
Good Lord @ExercicenformedeZ that's a bit harsh.

No, it isn't. He is incredibly plain, bordering on ugly. I have no idea how anyone finds him hot, and the idea of him as Bond is ludicrous.

Aaron Taylor seemed unrealistic to me until I watched a few of his films - I can totally see it now!

Richard Madden? I feel like bodyguard was really good so could see him in that role.

Tom Hardy - venom style!

I thought Richard Madden was the guy from Richard and Judy. Could almost see him as Bond 😁

LushLemonTart · 22/02/2025 11:52

Another vote for Jack O'Connell.

Mytholmroyd · 22/02/2025 12:18

Yes I do like Jack O'Connell - not seen Godless though - will check it out!

The Duke from Bridgerton

Agree with this. Regé-Jean Page.

Uricon2 · 21/02/2025 12:37

Henry Golding. Might not see so much of his gorgeous smile as Bond but I think he would be interesting and right sort of age.

Or this.

squidgie · 22/02/2025 12:24

amber763 · 21/02/2025 13:06

Of course it should be Henry Cavill! There's no other sensible choice!

He looks perfect but is quite bland for my liking.

Snowdropsaremyfavourite · 22/02/2025 12:28

Joe Alwyn. I think he could grow into the role quite effortlessly. He has that calm, British demeanour that could carry him through a bit of action and romance no problem at all.

Alfred Enoch!

Another good one! He is gorgeous and a good actor. Have met him in real life - very charming! 😉

Harry Styles or Stormzy

Plus Elon Musk and Andrew Tate as a couple of bad guys

Posing Julia Roberts GIF by Working Title

Stormzy seems like a laugh. He has the best laugh ever. I could see him as one of those brilliant side characters that steal the show. Maybe a romcom or something. Notting Hill did well out of Rhys Ifans to be fair #Spike

I really really would love it to be Idris Elba. But I think they'll think he's too old now. Not least of all because they can't get away with his live interest being 30 years younger anymore, and the misogyny in Hollywood won't want to cast a 50 year old woman in that role, however gorgeous she may be.

StMarie4me · 22/02/2025 12:53

TheGrimSqueakersFlea · 21/02/2025 12:27

I have no idea. I'm just here to say that Idris is not too old. Roger Moore stopped playing Bond when he was 57. Idris is only 52

Yes but as my post he had love interests 30 years younger anymore get which they won't do now (as they can no longer get away with it)

FFSJulie · 22/02/2025 13:30

I’d like to see Kiell Smith-Bynoe in the role, I like him as an actor, and think he would play an excellent Bond.

Grannyinnwaiting · 22/02/2025 14:35

jonathan Bailey, James Norton or Jack Lowden.
Doris would have been perfect but he's too old to sustain more than one of two movies

Uricon2 · 22/02/2025 15:11

It vaguely amuses me that the guys I've thought would be good Bonds (Nathaniel Parker; Clive Owen; Rufus Sewell; Idris Elba) are now aged out of the role. I am particularly sad about Idris because I think he'd have been wonderful, he has the physical charisma that Connery had.

There is a story that when SC was cast Ian Fleming was "no no no" (IIRC not posh enough) but totally changed his mind when he saw him leave the building they were in and walk across the street.

Not a problem, just cast older women as love interests.
