PANIC! Fast direct debit?! Switch offer!

Hi! I did a bank switch to take advantage of the switch offer, and they’ve just told me that the two direct debits must not only have been set up, but must have been debited too by the specified date (thanks Coop!) The wording was ‘active’ DDs, which I think is a bit vague!

Now trying to set up some payments quick. Lots of charities, for eg, seem to take 10 days.

Anyone know which organisations do this quickly?

It's normally 3-10 working days I think for a DD to be set up and I think it depends on the banks too.

Is the deadline soon?

Yes, it’s in the next 3 days! Although the lady that I spoke to said a few times, oh well if you’ve met all the other eligibility criteria… but I realise now she never at any point finished the sentence

Anyone know of anywhere that can/does complete DD payments quickly?!

PayPal & Klarna?

I'm not sure but read the small print before you set up a dd. When I switched end of last year it said dd couldn't be charities.

I did just ask the lady this on the phone and she said there were no restrictions, so hopefully this covers me!

I've defo got a direct debit for them, it was to buy a phone from Giffgaff so not sure if you can do it for other stuff? 🤔

Edit - found this;

Klarna direct debit is an automatic withdrawal of monthly payments from a bank account. You can set up a direct debit mandate when you apply for Klarna Financing.
How to set up direct debit
Go to Settings in the Klarna app
Tap Payment methods
Select Connect a bank account
Enter your bank details
Complete the steps to link your direct debit mandate
Managing direct debit
You can change your bank account details by going to Settings, then Payment methods
Changing your bank account will cancel any scheduled payments
You can reschedule payments after adding a new bank account
You should ensure you have enough funds in your account to cover the repayments on your due date each month

Just a tip make sure you keep up with the requirements to get the full money for the switch, I forgot one month so didn't get the £25, didn't forget for the last 2 months though 🤣

I had the same mad rush and couldn't get clear info quickly. I ended up checking docs.antom.com to double-check what I needed for the switch. It helped me see what I’d missed and sorted the confusion over which accounts were actually switching. It's just clearer written than some of the emails I got.
