Frozen Embryo transfer Protocol @UCLH

Hi everyone, I’m about to start a frozen embryo transfer (FET) protocol at the Reproductive Medicine Unit at UCLH (NHS funded). I’d love to hear from anyone who has been through the process - what protocol and medications were used, how long it took, and what your overall experience was like. Thank you!

Hi. I am currently going through a FET at Barts. Just finished letrozole, still taking Clexane injections (which I detest) and baby aspirin. Which cycle day are you on? My estimated transfer day is 10th March, all depending when I ovulate - I do this without a trigger). 1st base scan is this friday.

thank you @AnonS and good luck for your FET cycle :)

Did you do any downregulation month in preparation for FET? or did you have a choice to decide if to do the downregulation or simply start straight away?

I have my nurse appointment next week and my cycle is due next week too. So hopefully I will start my FET cycle soon 💫

No, a medicated cycle doesn't seem to work for me, my lining never gets thick enough and I bleed throughout when taking estrogen. I do modified naturals. As I consistently have thin lining, they found letrozole makes me release two eggs, which is why I take it for 5 days. For some reason 2 eggs makes my lining thicker.

I am taking blood thinners this time, as I have had 5 failed FETs. They are throwing everything at me. If successful, I will be on them until 12 weeks (I hate them). With natural cycles, they let you ovulate on your own, I just have to keep testing to pin point when ovulation occurs. Again, they let me ovulate naturally so it gives my lining more time to thicken up.

I assume this is your 1st FET? Have you had a fresh transfer yet?

I've had three FETs, all natural cycles. Took blood thinners and had the endless appointments to check when ovulation had taken place as per pp. All three of mine worked (ie had three children, all singletons).
I had my eggs frozen at UCLH yonks ago, but the FET was at a private clinic.

That gives me a little hope. I started bleeding today and I am only on cycle day 9, hoping its just side effects. However Im now paranoid my lining wont be thick enough if I am bleeding.

You know there's a dedicated page to all this somewhere on mumsnet? You'll get more responses and be able to share journeys if you go there.
