Have you seen anything that makes you believe in the paranormal? (Possible TW)

I'm very much a skeptic with an open mind but I do like horror/scary/unexplained videos. Mostly because I think they're funny but I do like having a good scare and I've just seen a video that makes me question the paranormal.

Potential trigger warning below - I don't want to upset anyone - it mentions a car accident.

In 2015 a young mother and her baby was in a car accident and went off the bridge into a river below.

The police footage shows the officers trying to up turn the car to save them. In the video you hear a faint voice saying " help us " ( it is really quiet and you have to listen out for it really ) and the officer responds saying they're helping, they're being as quick as they can etc and they overturn the car, find the mother deceased and they help the baby. All the officers claim they heard the voice clearly in person and it saying " help us " which is what you hear in the video but it was confirmed that sadly the mother died on impact.

I mean I guess they could be a million explanations to what it was but the officers are really convinced they heard a woman's voice asking for help in the car.

I just find that really heartbreaking obviously but it makes me think about whether the supernatural could be a possibility - I can't imagine the first responders faking it when they were saving a baby's life (obviously I don't know but it'd be very weird if they did) and it got me thinking has anyone else seen a video or had an experience that has happened that makes you believe in the paranormal or at least makes you think about it?

( if you think it's all BS, that's cool so do I but I'm just interested in peoples experiences in real life or things they've seen )

not paranormal. but certainly reality

Cupcakes2035 · 19/02/2025 02:03

another possibility , another person got out the car, but near enough to make the help me, knowing the baby was on board ?

A couple of things

Lived in a pub with a rumour of a ghost, a guy who was shot by the old landlord (many many years ago) and it was also an old courthouse where they would hang people
Huge history, and my dad was not one for any discussion about ghosts and would scoff at the thought

My dad would put the candles out each night, one on every table and some on the fireplaces. He did that, set the alarm and headed upstairs. Alarm goes off. He goes back down to find a lit candle and puts it out
Back upstairs, alarm goes off again
Candle relit. He puts it out, takes the candle out the holder and says "ffs Matthew (ghost name)"
Back upstairs... back down again and candle is back in the holder and lit

There's also a door with a small frosted glass window, and it leads to the toilets. So common to see someone through the window and stand back to let them through and not get smacked by the door!
My dad stood back after seeing someone standing there only to remember the pub was locked up and nobody else was inside. He pushed the door open and nobody there

A ghost in my hallway. In broad daylight. A man walking across my hallway, from the foot of my stairs through the living room door. I think it might have been my dad - his ashes were in my hall for a while, and he was about his height.

There was a bit of activity on my landing around the same time, so it tracks.

@buffyfaithspikeangel was the pub in Essex by any chance?

You can hear the recordings of the Enfield Poltergeist on YouTube. I cannot believe a 13 year old girl faked that voice. Plus the ‘man’ said he was called Bill and died in the chair and was buried in Durrants Road cemetery. ‘Bills’ son confirmed this to be true, something Janet, a young girl living in an age without internet could never have known.

JMSA · 08/05/2025 03:02

No, never.

The voice was impressive! But apparently talked a lot about teen girl stuff like periods etc. so I think she was just really good at doing an old man voice.

@ChaosAndToast do you have a link to the video you watched?

I had an extremely real out of body experience during surgery. I shouldn't have been able to think of anything. I was under GA. It must have been about an hour later that I was shoved back into my body, woke up and was thinking oh no not this place again. I really wanted to stay gone.

Firefly1987 · 08/05/2025 04:13

@Gettingbysomehow that's amazing, could you give more of an account of what happened to you whilst you were out of body? If you don't mind of course. I find this stuff super interesting.

It was extremely realistic. I didn't hang about watching the medical staff I went straight to a place that was full of love and happiness. It felt more real than our world. There was no tunnel. It was much more real, as if our world had been a bad dream and this was reality. I could see the people I loved my old cats, my grandparents and my uncle and some spirit entities. I'm actually pagan but didn't see any God.
Then it felt like I was slipping and I was chucked back in my body. It was such a shock, I actually said, no Im not back here again, I can't be it's not real. I was waking up in a lot of pain with a feeling of terrible loss.
It felt very, very real.

Not paranormal as such but years ago I was sat at my sisters house. She had twins - a boy and a girl. The girl was off school poorly whilst the boy was at school.
Girl had gone into the kitchen and as she was walking back into the living room she suddenly fell to the ground screaming that her leg was hurting - sister rushed to her, found no marks, redness or swelling - but girl kept shouting that it was her shin that was hurting and refused to stand up. A few minutes later the school rang - nephew (her twin brother) had fallen and they suspected he had a broken leg. Later confirmed at hospital. The kids were 7 years old at the time. Girl’s leg continued to hurt in the exact same place as her brother’s fracture but doctors could find no reason for the pain. Very weird!

It’s on you tube. Just type in Enfield Poltergeist recordings.

Wow thank you! Amazing experience. I think the not wanting to go back is a common feeling, I can imagine it's hard to leave such a lovely place!

I was at uni with a fire fighter, he was heading for retirement and doing uni part time.

He said he had a little girl who looked out for him when he was at work, sort of a spirit guide. He would occasionally hear her voice saying "Get out"

Otherwise he was the most down to earth person you could meet.
