Not really an AIBU

But I'm about to do it so could do with a quick response

I made lasagne using frozen mice lamb

I made three ate two and placed one in the freezer

Is there any reason I can not reheat the one that's been in the freezer and give it to my son to eat

On the packet of frozen mince it said do not re-freeze (or reheat or something along those lines, I've binned it now)

Mice? Yum! Ha ha ha 😂

My understanding was that when you cook the mince that means you can freeze it once more again - they just mean don't defrost the mince then refreeze the raw mince. So you should be ok assuming you cooked the mince when making the lasagne!

As the mince was cooked before it went in the freezer it will be fine 🙂

It will be up to temp when it's cooked again as I have a meat thermometer

Once you've cooked it, you are fine to refreeze.

I often freeze mince-based meals where the mince started off frozen, was then cooked and one or two popped into the freezer. Perfect for batch cooking chilli etc. if anything, it's even more tender the next time - this is even more true with cooked and then frozen meals that contain cubed meat such as chicken or beef.

Because you cooked the thawed frozen mince before you froze it for a second time, it is safe to eat it now. As always with any reheating food, make sure it is thoroughly hot all through the dish.

Freeze>>> thaw>>> cook>>> freeze>>> thaw>>> reheat
