Diary of a 24 M really fussy eater
Breakfast : milk plus homemade bread with peanut butter plus yogurt with blueberries / croissant
Snack : banana or apple
Nap : milk
Lunch : homemade chicken , courgettes and potatoes meatballs , plus carrot stick
Snack : protein raspberry yogurt plus crackers
Dinner : carrot stick plus pasta with pesto with sneaky courgettes /

She also has : leanpork and boiled eggs meatballs , lasagna , sausages , homemade hazelnut meringue , apples , pears , pesto with disguised spinach and courgette , Greek yogurt , hummus with crackers , bolognese .

Not a fan of rice , certain pasta sauces , won’t touch eggs or cheese , sometimes she won’t have dinner if something she doesn’t fancy what I cooked 😌

Bed : milk

Does this sound like sensory issues

I thought you were talking about a 24 year old male 😆

So did I!! 😂

OhHellolittleone · 18/02/2025 11:51

Same!!! I thought that until I got to ‘nap: milk’

Tbf, lots of 24 year olds love a nap and a huge glass of milk!

I don't believe that you really think that diet makes your kid look fussy?!
Sounds like a humble brag almost!

Definitely
"Does this sound like a really fussy eater"? 🙄Yeah, sure, so very fussy...

dottydodah · 18/02/2025 12:38

Good lord no! My own DD wouldnt touch anything more than Chicken,Yoghurt ,Broccoli Spag bol or ham for years .Even now a bit sniffy!Really dont worry she sounds like shes doing great. Our friends DH wont eat anything but Carrots veg wise !

BlueFlint · 18/02/2025 12:40

Well I feel personally attacked by this post as I have an actual fussy toddler who is in a "refusing to try anything remotely new" phase! 😁She likes bread. She likes butter. She likes cheese. So I'll make her a cheese sandwich, what's not to like? NO ABSOLUTELY NOT, MUMMY.

I don't think you have anything to worry about. I know how anxiety inducing it can be to get the little beggars to eat a healthy varied diet, but it sounds like you're doing a really good job.

BlueFlint · 18/02/2025 12:44

Also ignore the mean replies! You would obviously like a bit of reassurance, I can see you're not trying to brag at all. It would be a nicer place here if people thought a little about how their replies might feel to someone seeking out support. You're doing good mama, keep it up!

LazyArsedMagician · 18/02/2025 12:52

Sounds like a 2 year old to me.

Relax.

discdiscsnap · 18/02/2025 12:54

When I was a child I only ate cries, yoghurt, chicken, chips. Refused all other food.

kierenthecommunity · 18/02/2025 13:03

My (admittedly a good eater) 12 year old spat pesto out aged 2 and has refused to touch it since. So your DD has one over on him. 🤣

Was mentioning the ‘home made’ bread and ‘home made’ meatballs stuff absolutely necessary? What difference does that make? 🤷🏻‍♀️

CandidRaven · 18/02/2025 13:05

Seems far from fussy to me, for context at the same age until about 3 my mum told me i would only eat strawberry jelly and wouldn't even entertain anything else and even now I stick to the same familiar foods at aged 35 😅 your child's diet honestly looks great

HangingOver · 18/02/2025 13:06

I'm 37 and I would love a nap and a hazelnut meringue please.

LoafofSellotape · 18/02/2025 13:07

SockQueen · 18/02/2025 10:46

Sounds like a fairly varied toddler diet to me!

This! That is NOT a fussy child and it's a wide variety of food. Don't look for problems where there aren't any!

BulbousFrog · 18/02/2025 13:12

This isn't fussy. For context, my DD at that age are 3 foods. Milk, apples, and plain pasta.

Henbags · 18/02/2025 13:20

That is NOT a fussy eater, trust me.

MissRachelismycoparent · 18/02/2025 13:21

God you really don't know restrictive eating. My eight year old wouldn't dream of eating any of that.

Tbh I’d specify something like that on here cos otherwise you’ll get realms of posters telling you it’s all processed crap.

MaltipooMama · 18/02/2025 14:06

Oh gosh I think her diet is more wonderful and varied than mine 😂 in all seriousness, this sounds fantastic, a lovely mix of lots of types of different things, you're doing great! I know toddlers who only want to touch fish fingers/chips/chicken nuggets etc so this is a wonderful and healthy variety!

Tumbleweed44 · 18/02/2025 10:51

No not in the slightest! You sound deluded thinking this is restrictive 😂. You say she won’t touch eggs but then you say she eats hard boiled eggs.

Edited

Sorry but I agree with this!

PinkPonyClub25 · 18/02/2025 14:18

Thought you were talking about a 24 year
Old male, why couldn't you just say 2 year
Old?

Sounds normal to me.
