I haven’t travelled in London for a long time. I need to go from London Paddington to Westminster. Can anyone tell me the quickest route? I have dyspraxia so I struggle with directions.

You can take a Circle line (the yellow one), this will take you to Westminster directly. Direction-wise it will be the one that says ‘via Victoria’.
You can also download the TFL app which has a tube map, or go to their website, I always find it easier if I see the map in front of me.

Circle Line is the easiest if you are going station to station

If you're talking those general areas of London, download the Citymapper app which is very clear and will give you all the tube and bus routes. More user friendly than the tfl app.

Download the app called Citymapper. For anywhere in London, just follow what Citymapper says.

Get the Circle Line anticlockwise

Nb there are two different circle-line platforms at Paddington and you want the one that shares with the District line not the one that shares with the Hammersmith line.

You are going in the right direction of it says "Via Victoria" and the first station after Paddington is Bayswater. Then Westminster is the 9th station.

Citymapper ap is brilliant

LoafofSellotape · 18/02/2025 09:16

There are loads of staff at the barriers, they will direct you if you ask too.

In London Paddington you want to head to the entrance to the underground that is in the main concourse so under the shops ( boots, Leon etc) this has the platform for circle line via Victoria. You need to walk right to the front of the train to get here.

MalleusMaleficarumm · 18/02/2025 09:33

Either use the route planner on the TFL website or speak to the station staff at Paddington, they will be able to help

I do this journey for work all the time. Head towards the Circle line: you'll need to wait on the platform that is on the opposite side of the tracks. There's a footbridge to take you over, just to the right hand side on the approach.
Trains are very frequent, as PP says you want the one that says Victoria on the front. There are announcements on the train to tell you which is the next stop, so just listen out.

I would take the 23 bus and get off at Trafalgar Square, then wander down Whitehall
