One year old sleep regression or separation anxiety?

Hi all. Wondering if anyone is going thought he same. My little boy just tired one and is waking up so frequently at night. We put him to bed at 7pm, he used to get himself to sleep but now just screams until we rock him.

For pretty much the whole of January he was ill, tonsillitis, chest infection, one year vaccines and tonsillitis again. Four teeth have come through. It’s been rough. We couldn’t get his temp down so stayed in hospital a night with him and also had him up a lot in the night to check his temp and sometimes give Paracetamol etc.

Now he is waking up every hour at night.
If I put him into a bed with me he sleeps fine.

The only thing I can think is this is some form of separation anxiety. He goes to nursery and isn’t fussed when we leave and happy all day.

Can anyone give any advice. I didn’t really want to get into the habit of him having to sleep in the same bed as me and would like to get him back into his cot

It might be that diffucult phase every baby goes through. Ours was 9 months old. I took to forums on internet, really helped me. It took us 3 nights and it was over.
It is a schedule you must keep to, stay away 3 minutes, go back in the room, no speaking only check if baby is ok, then stay away a minute longer etc. You might want to use headphones for the minutes in between.
Good luck.
