Reasonable length of time to clean bathroom?

Please help me asses whether IABU.

How long would you say is reasonable to do a "deep clean" of a family bathroom?

It's a small room; toilet, sink, shower over bath. Tiled floor. Panel sheets around bath/shower.

It's becoming an increasing issue between DH and I, although I accept symptomatic of bigger things!

Thanks!

I need to up my game time wise…. Hats off to anyone doing this in 30 minutes our small en-suite takes me an hour to do a full deep clean with nothing left untouched.

Agree with other posters I remove all toiletrie and the like from the bathroom. then I pull the cover off the extractor first and clean that all out with a bottle brush around the fan bits. Then I dry dust first to remove dust so I am not spreading it about working from the top of the room down. Wash window down Do mirrors and chrome to a shine. Then I remove the plug and waster trap from the tray of the shower and clean those out and spritz with bleach and spray down the shower area tiles, doors and and fittings with Viakal and work into the areas with non scratch scour pad, then put foaming cleaner down the loo. Then I go back to the shower area and cif foam the tray and shower all the cleaner off down the plug hole, back to the toilet and flush cleaner away and then put bleach in around the bowl and under rim and leave whilst I move to the basin, Viakal and clean off taps, unscrew pop up plug and clean all inside that and around and under the rim. Once complete back to the loo to give that a wipe over with dettol and spray on and clean with bleach bray underside of seat and lid. Then I properly scrub out the bowl with a scouring sponge that I have previously well used so is ready to be binned thereafter. I clean over all tiles outside of the shower enclosure and then I wipe over all toiletries and the like as I put them all back and then I dry brush the floor and hoover and then wash/scrub the floor. Done!

Depends how dirty it is 🤔

I do my kitchen, then my bathroom and it takes me about an hour.

I cleaned our en suite last week - it was properly filthy though, thick dust and lists of line scale and scum (soft water area) in shower and it took me a little over an hour. Normally I would say 20-30 mins for a normal clean or if you clean at least once a week then probably 15ons would do.

For me that would be about an hour. To scrub the tiles, wash the floor, clean shelving and glass shower screens etc.....

This... For a deep clean.

A quick clean 10-15 mins

You shouldn't keep meds, especially prescriptions ones in a bathroom, they nearly all say "store in a cool dry place", often with liquid meds,"away from sunlight" as well. I'm fussy, I have cleaned for surgical operations, ex H had his own cleaning company, and once cleaned an electricity sub station,it carried a risk of electrocution, and had to be specialist cleaned wearing PPE. I was nursing over 40 years, did isolation, barrier, reverse barrier, and it would take me minutes to clean my bathroom. DH refitted it about 6 years ago, and everything goes in cupboards, apart from liquid soap, toothbrushes,I don't dust shampoo bottles, but I do clean daily as soon as I get out of the shower. Toilet is done several times a day after bowel movements (veggie 🤣) so there is never a mess. I don't have a bin in there. I did during Covid with paper hand towels. Dgd pinched that.

A bit late to this one… I’m a cleaner. 30-45mins for a general maintenance clean. 1-2 hours for a deep clean, could be longer if very bad build up in a large bathroom

Lalalalalalalalalalaoohoohwee · 22/02/2025 21:05

Literally anywhere from 15 mins to an hour, depending on what you consider a deep clean

Tanjamaltija · 23/02/2025 05:46

It depends how dirty it is, to begin with, and what products you use.
