Bleeding since Christmas

Does anybody have any experience of this…

Ive been bleeding now since before christmas. Every single day, like a heavy period. I’m using super flow tampons. I’m exhausted and now signed off sick. I’m taking transX acid with northisterone. I’m taking 9 tablets a day and have been doing for 2 weeks, I’m still bleeding but now it’s more manageable. Hormone levels normal, Ferratin 11, HB fine. Smear last year was normal. View of cervix- nothing concerning. Swabs- clear. Low abdominal pain radiating down legs but not constant, not agony.

Im due an USS next week to check for fibroids/polyps/something sinister. How long after scan have people waited for their results? And if they had fibroids/polyps how long until you received any treatment, if any?

For full disclosure I’m a nurse, and acutely aware of the state of the NHS. I feel absolutely dreadful, frightened and exhausted. I just wondered if anybody had any recent experience of what the next steps look like. I feel like I’m going to be left like this for ages and I’m beyond fed up.

I have just been found to have a polyp during an USS. I was told during the scan that this is what they thought it was. Between scan and first appointment at colposcopy clinic will be about 5 weeks, so much faster than I was expecting!! I haven’t had the clinic appointment yet, so I can’t update you any further, but just wanted to reassure you with my experience.

My dd bled for 26 long weeks and was referred to gyne. Not much investigating going on though. Bloody shit isn’t it?

I bled for 13 months, ended up being put down to PCOS. In the end, for me, losing a little bit of weight and not using birth control was the only thing that worked for me. By the time the GP listened to me and the consultant referral went through the bleeding had stopped so no further help was given.

Feel for you and hope you get the support you need.
