So much cheap rubbish in supermarkets.
Valentines is so cheesy..
But seriously it can't be good for single people that are depressed about being single.

Luckily I don't care.

I have never been triggered by a card or some lady putting chocolate in her shopping cart.
If I was triggered by something so mundane, I'm not sure being single would be my main problem.

Better ban mothers day stuff too because eventually most people outlive their parents. Fathers day too. Christmas for all the lonely. Flowers need to go as well incase you accidentally think about somebody else reviewing some and find this upsetting. Take all the booze off the shelves, all the wine and get rid of special offers incase you are booze hound. All the chocolate, cakes and crisps so we can spare the obese. All the meat because the vegans find it too distressing. Bread from the bakery has to go (I'm allergic to wheat so I'm going to get all triggered about it because it smells too delicious).

Basically the shop now only sells lentils and fresh kale. You win at life. ? 😁

I miss the days before being "triggered" was a thing.

I suspect Roy Rogers preferred it too.

If someone is so triggered by something as simple as a card then it's better that they stay in the house for the day.

@ComtesseDeSpair The Colin the caterpillar cakes are fab!

I've been single for years

Dd's sperm donor used to cause a huge fight before my winter birthday so he wouldn't have to buy me a gift

he's avoid me from my bday, over Christmas and new year and valentines and then contact me after with apologies

Insane that I had such low self esteem I didn't cut him off

I love valentines day now, it's about self love and dd

It can be triggering for some i guess, but you just have to stay indoors for the day x

Everything can be a tat-fest though. Hello Christmas, Easter, Halloween, Bonfire night, Baby showers, Weddings…February is such a miserable month, if it’s an excuse for a nice meal I’m not going to get miserable about it.

I’ve bought some heart shaped biscuits for the kids, cupcakes and steak for me my partner, some beautiful red tulips and a card. Oh and I got my daughter some fleecy pink PJs with roses and heats on but she needed them. I wouldn’t go anywhere near a teddy on a stick or a plastic rose.

Is anyone going to avoid the supermarket tonight then?
The card trigger thing is interesting. It could easily upset people if they look too closely. It's not about being single, more that people might feel everyone else is smug and happy.
Which of course isn't actually true.
Tesco and Sainsbury's Valentines stuff is right as you walk in. I find it stupid as it's too easy for all the lazy husbands/ bfs.

I have only ever bought a a card in the past and made sure it wasn't a stupid crappy one..something subtle and organic looking.

Firstly, there will be nothing Valentines themed left.

Secondly, if anyone feels that people are 'smug' because they're happy or in a couple, that's a them problem and the probably need to address that.
