To think there may be schools that will be looking for teachers to start post before Sept 2025

Asking all those old-timer or just v.wise teachers who know...do schools hire teachers post January for perm roles? Or even contract that include pay over summer?
Surely I'm not the only one that has worked in a school and for some reason or other not wanted to work the rest of the year and would very much like a fresh start somewhere else. Getting to work in a school before the Sept start means I feel I have a head start so when I get my new classes in Sept I'm already familiar with the school.
My current school have given me a job share with a cover supervisor (no previous school experience) and I am not enjoying the mental load of a FT teacher for 0.6 of the pay. I'd rather work somewhere else for 0.8 and be paid for that.

Of course they do. Just not as frequently as a September start.

Absolutely they do!

Schools are looking for teachers through out the year, often going in the next school year.

Depending on what you teach depends on how easy it is to get a place.

It's a core subject. I guess because my own school so rarely appoint permanent teachers for start dates after January I assumed other schools didn't. If someone goes on maternity, leaves due to long term sick or whatever reason they fill that role with agency cover because if they filled that role they would have to pay them for summer I guess.
