DBS waiting time

Has anyone had one recently? There seems to be no logic, I've had a few over the years and the most I've waited from sending the application to receiving it in the post is 3 weeks.
It's an enhanced dbs, I've got no convictions, never changed my name, haven't lived abroad in over 7 years, I've changed address a couple of time but nothing that should cause issues on an application.
It's been stuck on stage 2 for over a week now. My job depends on it which is stressful, I've looked and can't really do anything until it's been 60 days, might not even have a job offer by then!
Has anyone else had issues with them lately?

There doesn’t seem to be any pattern to them at the moment. I processed two recently and one came back in 48 hours the other took 1.5 months.

Had a few issues with this company from the off though. I put my 5 year address history as standard, but then they phoned me on a number of occasions asking me for the dates I lived at my parents' old address that I hadn't even lived at in over 8 years. Where that came from I had no idea.

Then phoned me a further 2 times to clarify this. I provided x2 proof of ID and x2 proof of address. My provisional licence does not have my current address on which has never been an issue with other DBS and I've provided two up to date and relevant proofs of address. I then had a call from them asking why I hadn't changed my provisional to my current address.

I received an enhanced DBS in December. I waited 6 weeks!
I was in the same situation as you, I've had numerous DBS before no change in personal details or circumstances. It just took ages.

Sorry, that's probably not what you wanted to hear.

Thanks for your answer! I'm in an area which apparently has a turnaround of 11 days on average. Some rural areas have a turnaround of 0.7 days!

A couple of years ago, DH& me both got our extremely complicated ones (multiple addresses, overseas addresses, military addresses..) back in days, while a friend took weeks. We theorised it was our rare surname making it easy!

That's good to hear! I also have a rare and unusual surname. Thankfully I've checked and stage 2 and 3 have been completed today, now onto stage 4, praying it's over soon

I suspect it can also depend whether the person dealing with your case has time off or anything.

Just got an email saying my dbs is complete and being printed, it's gone from stage 2 to 5 in the same day, I am so happy and relieved right now.
