If you or a person you know dreams of being a pilot but thought you couldn't due to costs, look into this! I don't know the full details but it came up on an aviation group I follow online. 18-55 years old, can apply at 17, and crucially must be able to pass the CAA medical.

If I were a few years younger I might have applied!

I'd love to become a commercial pilot but I'm 35, have suffered with anxiety in the past (which the CAA are very twitchy about), have another medical issue which could go against me, not to mention it simply not working alongside family life at all.

I should have done it in my 20s before having kids, but hey ho.

I did manage to get a private pilots licence last year though, so I'll settle for flying around Yorkshire for now 😃.

They have had this for years, I got an interview for this 30 years ago, 40 000 applicants then and 100 interviews, sadly I didn't succeed but did get a paid trip to London with flight and hotel and got to return home in the cockpit.

Ds would've loved to have applied for this but got a 4 in English language. Not sure what happened as he was predicted a 6 and got a 7 in literature.
Such a shame.
