Can I encourage you all to take Hello Fresh Insulation Material to Charity Shop?

I work at a charity shop. I take my Hello Fresh insulation wadding to the shop every week and it flies off the shelf.
I think people are buying it for crafting.
Saves it going onto landfill!

Thanks! I've always felt a bit shit throwing it away.
You don't think it's just your charity shop that do it? I'm worried I'll get weird looks 😂

Or offer it on Facebook/free cycle - I use loads in my garden

HotCrossBunplease · 12/02/2025 08:54

God yeah. My local charity shops turn their noses up at pretty much everything, I wouldn’t dare. (And no, I do not try to give them broken or dirty things).

JustBitetheKnotsOff · 12/02/2025 08:54

Ha, I tried using it around plants in my garden and the dog decided it was the best thing ever. Looked out to see an apparent sheep massacre all over the lawn.

Rhumba · 12/02/2025 09:01

I'm intrigued - what do you use it for in the garden - is it compostable?

Redcrayons · 12/02/2025 09:04

I hate throwing it away, but I couldn’t think of a use for it. I’ll ask in my local shop. They are a bit picky.

You can compost it or use it around plants either as frost protection or to deter slugs

We have a crafting section at our charity shop, and I put it there. Gets bought really quickly.
I know that not all chazza have crafty stuff.

That sounds like an excellent charity shop. I do actually use mine for crafts myself, as you say, it’s perfect wadding for quilted things.

Also a great idea!

If you don't want to take it to a charity shop then I'd suggest offering on your local craft fb page if its used for wadding... wadding is stupidly expensive.

I thought US Hello Fresh packing was ok to use in the garden etc but the UK one wasn't.
