There is just not enough money to live a nice, fairly average life now on good jobs. Really what is the point? Just working to survive until we retire, probably in our 70’s, if we’re lucky to make it that long..it’s crap! It isn’t a life and isnt the way it should be.

Have been watching the programmes with Olivia Attwood (think that’s her name) and all these people earning thousands a month with the aim of working a few years to earn a few million and be done. A lot of them seem to have captured niche markets, work from home, work for themselves…I don’t know, how much longer to go out every day to work, to slog my guts out just to get by.

I don’t blame them for doing it

They all have one thing in common though - they are as dumb as mince and have no self respect. If that’s you, go for it!

This is a fabulously shit take.

Ive never looked at an Only fans page/site

Then why do you have such clear views about it? If you don't even know what it looks like?

icelolly12 · 11/02/2025 16:14

Doubt it's that easy to make enough money to retire on.

For celebrities with followings then yes it's easy for them to make easy money- men will pay to see their tits or whatever.

For the average Jo on the street, not so much. That's why you're seeing more extreme behaviour such as claiming to have sex with 1000 men in one day as this gets publicity to drive men to their site.

RedHelenB · 11/02/2025 16:17

Hasn't that always been life though for most people?

Heelworkhero · 11/02/2025 16:26

I have a page on the site.

I don’t do anything pornographic, or even approaching….. I offer unique photos and videos though.

They aren’t sexualised, other than the slant men may take on them.
I’ll happily show anyone interested/curious.

I make around £300-400 per month in the cooler months. Can make over £1,000 a month in the warmer weather where there’s more opportunities for pictures. So not an income, but a nice top-up that helps me to work part time in my main job.

I don’t take any time out of my day really to take the shots other than 20 minutes or so - it’s all things/placez I do/go for fun in my leisure time anyway.
Don’t even put any make up on before the pics!!
I have a strong following on X which drives traffic to my page.

But it’s certainly rare to have non-porn content making money, for sure.

Well that has surprised me I'm not going to lie. I'd have thought dainty feet would be the get off ones, just shows you...
I joke about selling feet pics but mine are apparently too average then, need a new plan for early retirement.
OP, I get what you're saying though these people that brag about how much they make on OF must be posting quite a lot of content and most likely of a niche nature.

Same, me and a colleague joke about it all the time the week before payday - she has massive feet and mine are tiny so we often make ludicrous plans to see who gets more clicks, get some extra cash for Christmas etc. But we both know we'd never be able to actually go through with it. I couldn't rest for worrying I'd be "spotted" somehow!

The thread is about Of. The poster you're referring to sounds as if the situation with the female stripper being fired perhaps occurred in the US - maybe they would have fired a male stripper too. However you look at it, a male stripper at a hen do is very unlike some of the online Of content, which can be incredibly extreme porn/fetish. A big difference between male and female strippers is also largely their audience, and the audience reaction.

"A big difference between male and female strippers are the audience".

The audience for male and female strippers are exactly the same. They are people paying to see someone naked.

Society has total double standards.

A male teacher in my school used to be a stripper. I know that the headteacher knows about it , as the male teacher told everyone. No one cares. They just had a bit of a laugh about it.

However I know if there was a female teacher here, and she was found out to have been a stripper in the past, she probably would be fired.

Reetpetitenot · 11/02/2025 16:48

'However I know if there was a female teacher here, and she was found out to have been a stripper in the past, she probably would be fired.'

You can't possibly know that.

Audiences for male and female strippers are really not the same. Anyhoo, the thread is about OF.

It STARTED as being about only fans.

Threads evolve. And talk about other things.

Me and another poster were discussing strippers.

Beyond the tawdry nature of it I would be worried about people being able to track me down and come to my house. Photos have locations embedded in them, IP address etc. You would have to be very up on VPNs etc to make sure you weren't tracked.

I think I've found my niche, my farts are legendary! Big bucks here I come 😂

Teamcullen23 · 10/02/2025 22:35

It's unfair to say that anyone who does this is thick as mince. Also daft to suggest that they are all selling their souls and will psychologically damaged later on in life. Yes for some the benefits of a quick buck won't be worth it. Their families or employers may find out and they will regret that they did it.

Others won't care. It won't affect them. It won't traumatise them or have any negative effects. They will do it for as long as they like then move on and probably rarely think of it again.

Everyone is different. It wouldn't be for me but fair play to those who can make money from it if that's what they want to do.

I don’t believe that anyone would come out unscathed in one way or another, but it’s worth considering the emotional impact on children who find out their mum did this kind of work. The media tries to push the sex positive line but no one falls for it, especially not kids in the playground

Briannaco · 11/02/2025 17:22

I think a lot of online sex work is fine.

As long as it's not violent or abusive content, who is it hurting?

Kerry ketona is on only fans. She said that she's made millions just from topless pics.

That's not hurting anyone

HauntedBungalow · 11/02/2025 18:48

God love her but Kerry Katona is hardly an example of a happy life lived to even half its potential.

I think she did very well considering what a shit upbringing she had.

She had an abusive drug addict mum and an absent dad and she went on to be a popstar

I had an abusive mum and an absent dad , and I haven't become a pop star!

I mean it's admirable - what she achieved, after overcoming a crap childhood.

Tooearlytothink · 11/02/2025 20:17

Clearly nobody replying has watched the show you're talking about. I have & totally get what you're saying. Some of them don't even do anything particularly revealing. The ones who make money slagging men off are particularly clever, who knew that could be monetised to that degree. It's not for me but can't fathom how rude/harsh some of the comments here are about these women. The joy of being an open minded adult is surely being able to accept others live a life that's not for you and as long as they're not hurting anyone there's really no need to be so set against it. If we as women can't even allow each other that grace, how can we expect men to.

I2amonlyhereforTheBeer · 11/02/2025 20:28

So are you thinking of doing it? I agree with other posters here about Only Fans in that you'll probably have to sell your soul and you need to keep going and evolving to keep up with the competition, keep getting 'likes' to ensure you're out there at the forefront. But there's a growing demand for porn that's more authentic, erotic and appeals to women, so a rise in couples creating their own porn from home. Lustery is just one such website that's an alternative to the crap that is Pornhub. So, if you and your partner can be paid to get it on in your own way in your own home. why not?

^

This is too simplistic an assumption

Would you say someone was thick as mince and had no self respect who worked in an abbatoir for minimum wage??

From what I have heard, I have to admit that OF sounds like easy money. If you're willing to do stuff that men will pay for -

And to a certain extent it's safe, you don't actually meet these men!

StormyPotatoes · 11/02/2025 20:49

@Tooearlytothink It’s not about accepting others decisions (though it’s certainly not true to say that individual women's choices are always harmless to women as a class).

Posts like this add to the myth that there’s good, easy money to be made on OF, but the average earnings are actually around £150 per month. This is a really dangerous message to promote as it encourages desperate women to join. Someone up thread said it’s like a Ponzi scheme and that’s exactly it. Join, give more and more and eventually you’ll be in the 1% making an actual wage…

To make real money, it’s a full time job. It requires the time to create the content, engagement, marketing, interacting with fans and bespoke requests. And then it’s finding an angle that sets you out from the other 4 million creators. All whilst trying to keep fresh and interesting for your subscribers (who, let’s face it, are going to be creeps).

And that’s all without touching on the psychological fallout.

Jumpingthruhoops · 11/02/2025 20:53

SunsetCocktails · 11/02/2025 14:52

This. Start out doing a few sexy poses and before you know it you're doing 'how many men can I fit in my back door' Lily Philips style

That's actually really patronising. You do know some women are capable of setting boundaries and sticking to them?

Crushed23 · 11/02/2025 21:05

We're just in a world where we're being conditioned to think well-paid side hustles are the norm. The reality is most lose you money, or take so many hours it works out well below minimum wage - the saying 'if it sounds too good to be true it probably is' applies here. There are decent side hustles, but very few that take minimal effort.

Never a truer word.

I like the advice - though I can't remember who said it - "make your side hustle your main hustle or forget about it".

Diomi · 11/02/2025 21:08

If you look at the average earnings, it probably works out at less than minimum wage for most people and much more precarious and less pleasant than many regular jobs.
