Money help

Hello, just after any advice. I work full time, my partner is currently 10 weeks pregnant and unemployed. I earn too much to receive any help according to benefit sites but I don’t earn enough to cover all bills.
my partner cannot get JSA or anything like that because of her national insurance contributions, does anyone know anyway around this? Or any way to get some extra help for us or her to receive some sort of money.

What’s her skill set?

It’s called being self employed

Self employed people still pay tax and NI

No, never earned over 12,000. Hence the problems now

Not when you don’t earn over a certain amount!

You’re not going to be able to access benefits/government money here. With the new style JSA you have to have paid into the system to benefit from the system which is fair enough. If your household income is above the threshold for UC then that’s also not an option, you’ll have to increase your income yourselves.

I’d suggest your partner goes out locally tomorrow with her CV and hand it in to all of the cafes, restaurants, shops etc, have a look on local fb pages for any vacancies being advertised there, you’re more likely to get something that way than sending CV’s online via Indeed etc. It may not be a job she’d dream of but with money tight and especially with a baby on the way a job is a job.
