Help- what's wrong with me

I just woke up and suddenly feel very ... odd. I can't sleep as I'm getting constantly woken up by body shivers buy they almost feel imagined rather than physical (I'm not cold nor feverish). I feel like my arms are frozen on the inside but they feel warm. My head is very off and woozy. I feel slightly nauseous. Stomach extremely gurgle-y.

Although I appear well I'm really freaking out about what's wrong, as none of it can really be explained by usual illnesses.

I did have a weird thing today where I was struggling to wee a bit and wondered if I had a UTI starting. I took a double dose of d-mannose - could it be a bad reaction to this? Or to the UTI itself?

My throat is a bit tickly but I've had a mild cold for about a week.

Any ideas?

Do you have a carbon monoxide alarm? Do you feel any better if you stand by the window for fresh air? I don't know about the d-mannose etc but didn't want to read and run without mentioning CM!

It does sound like an infection, UTI’s can develop really quickly and it can start a kidney infection. Speaking only from experience when I had a UTI, I’d go get a urine test and antibiotics if you need them. It can make you really unwell - take some patacetomol and try have something to drink incase your a bit dehydrated. I hope your better soon!

@coldscottishmum could it still be a UTI without any burning/pain/fever symptoms? Where can you get urine tests? Pharmacy? I'll definitely start there in the morning.

Could you take some paracetamol and see if that helps the sensations? I hope you feel better soon.

Yes! I was almost completely symptomless initially, I only found out during a midwife booking appointment. The only reason it got worse is I didn’t react to the first set of antibiotics and the symptoms worsened. Pharmacy can do it!

Thank you! I would but don't have any...

I only have kids ibuprofen in the house. Maybe I'll try that in case it can help as I can't sleep despite being exhausted. My body is definitely dealing with something.

Ooo that's good to know thank you! I've only had a UTI once before, about 20 years ago. Weeing was agony, I am quite grateful I don't have these awful symptoms now!

Please call 111 these were my exact symptoms and presentation eve. I developed a kidney infection from uti and resulting sepsis
