I always make:

batch of soup for lunch (not in Summer)
a couple of loaves of bread in bread maker
sandwich filler for the kids - tuna mayo, coronation chicken etc
green juice for me (on a weight loss kick)
overnight oats for teen daughter
used to make breakfast muffins but fallen out it
Chinese style pickled cucumbers - we make a massive batch which my daughters have with almost every meal think it is a social media thing

Just has become part of my routine and does make life easier

Curious what others do

Ooh I like the idea of making this. Please may I ask your recipe? My son has got into the habit of eating crudite with ranch. Would prefer something with less additives

Love ranch! This recipe (from Barefoot in the Kitchen) is way better than anything store-bought. I batch make it regularly.

Ingredients

â–¢1/2 cup mayonnaise
â–¢1/2 cup sour cream
â–¢1/2 cup buttermilk or regular milk
▢¾ – 1 teaspoon dried dill weed
â–¢1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
â–¢1/2 teaspoon dried chives
â–¢1/4 teaspoon onion powder
â–¢1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
â–¢1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt
â–¢1/8 teaspoon finely cracked pepper
â–¢ freshly squeezed lemon juice to taste approximately 1-3 teaspoons, adjust to taste
Can also add green chili powder for en extra kick.

Ghee.

Seeds toasted in a dry frying pan for adding to cereal (sunflower and pumpkin).

Fruit salad.

Nothing. But when I make dinner I almost always make enough for 2 nights or a couple of lunches.

I don't cook stuff just to have it to hand. We just always have the ingredients at home so we can cook pasto pesto or a Thai red curry in 20 minutes minutes on days where we're home late and have no leftovers from the day before.

I make soup fairly regularly to have on the go / available for lunch or a light dinner with a toastie .
I also make cake of some type but maybe not weekly ?
Anything else is made as and when although I hadn’t thought of boiling eggs 🥚 cooling and then leaving them in fridge to use as and when .

I often make cake so we're not eating shop bought. Otherwise meals are just cooked from scratch or use leftovers from the previous day.

I've realised recently that I had done a few batches of lemons needing to be used up made into juice and frozen as ice cubes. Really handy for cooking use. But especially to defrost 3 cubes overnight, and have with hot water, honey and a teaspoon of grated ginger first thing in the morning. I find grating a decent chunk of ginger on Sundays lasts to Friday morning for that purpose.

Before my yoghurt, oats, seeds and berries smoothie and coffee (I make the smoothie and grind coffee on Sundays also).

Dicing a tub of fruit doesn't always happen, but that's also good for breakfasts or desserts midweek. I used to be very good at making 2 salads for Mon/Tues lunches, but not recently.
