Insomnia - anyone else?

Does anyone else suffer? It’s torture.
I have always struggled with sleep, even as a baby, young child and teenager. My mum said I didn’t really sleep at all, let alone nap as a baby.

I go through phases where I sleep well for a few weeks, then times like this where I can’t get to sleep until late, once awake I see every hour, tossing and turning all night and up early too (body clock just wakes me up and I can’t get back off).

It’s usually just before my period that I’m exhausted but have insomnia. But I’m currently ovulating - I normally sleep really well during this time.
I do have a lot on my mind and I feel very anxious (lack of sleep doesn’t help)

I take magnesium glycinate every night to help me too.

I'm a terrible insomniac, it's gets better and worse at different times but I'm used to 4-5 hours sleep Confused

@mitogoshigg Same and my mum is similar so I think it may be genetic.
