DH has to be somewhere at 7pm.

I asked if he could take our DD to her mates on the way as he was going out anyway.

It is 9mins in the opposite direction but he could take her and then go straight to where he's going for 7 no problem. He wouldn't be late or anything.

He said no. AIBU?

I'd do it, and have done it. Instead I now have to take DS ( primary age ) with me to take her, it's not the end of the world but he's out anyway so I don't see why it's a no,

He never gives her lifts for context, that's always on me.

How old is dd?
Is he her df?
Is he a crap dp in general?

Crushgrape · 04/02/2025 17:58

He is massively unreasonable. How old is DD?

YourSnugHazelTraybake · 04/02/2025 17:59

Depends when you asked him. 9 mins each way is 20 mins extra journey, if you posted straight after you asked then he's not unreasonable.

SpringBunnyHopHop · 04/02/2025 17:59

He sounds like a bit of an arsehole. I wouldn’t do anything for him if he always says no to the kids.

pepsimaxiabetterthancoke · 04/02/2025 18:01

Teen, and usually gets the bus places on a weekend but it's dark tonight.

Yes her DF.

No he isn't a crap DF/DH BUT could do more to help around the house & with the kids. Kids and house stuff usually get left to me.

He does run round for DS, but that's stuff he's going to as well. Sports stuff.

He sounds mean. Why wouldn't he do this?

Just relaised you put that he never gives DD lifts so it’s not surprising he has said no again.

Kids and house stuff get left to me - that’s your issue. Not the question you’ve posted x

Part of parenting is spending many years as a chauffeur.

he is an arse

ginasevern · 04/02/2025 18:03

He must have his reasons surely? Have you ever asked him or challenged him over the lift issue. It seems a strange thing to say a blanket "no" to.

Springflowersmakeforbetterhours · 04/02/2025 18:04

Which part of being a df /dh is he good at?
Not much apparently..

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 04/02/2025 18:08

I don't understand why he wouldn't. Twat.
