To think this was unnecessary of my colleague

I’m starting to think she dislikes me, not sure why, but she seems quite ‘mean girl vibes’ and seems to complain a lot and I think talks about others. She’s been a bit rude to me on a few occasions but today I was making conversation during the children’s dinner time (it’s a nursery) I asked what they’re having for their dinner today and she said ‘dinner’. I said ‘dinner?’ And she said ‘yeah, dinner for dinner’. Not making a joke either. Aibu to think it’s just unnecessary

YANBU. She sounds like a sarky dickhead. Treat her as such.

She sounds annoying. I’d just ignore her where possible. Who cares if she likes or doesn’t like you.

I know it’s hard but try not to take it personal or dwell on it. Perhaps change your mindset, it’s such a shame x is so unfriendly and clearly quite a negative person.

I’ve worked with a couple of people like that before, I’m sure a lot of people have to. You can’t change them, just have to tolerate them.

She sounds like a miserable git. I doubt it's personal to you - she's just not a very nice person in general, I suspect.

Why are nursery/school workers all such bitches?

ACon · 04/02/2025 19:39

This might seem like a really odd question, but is your colleague a Geordie or from the North East? It's just that up here people refer to a meal of meat, potatoes and vegetables as 'a dinner'. I was really confused when I first moved here!

At Slimming World back in the day people would talk about making 'a dinner', another example might be if I asked what someone had made for their visitors at the weekend and they said 'I just made a dinner' meaning a Sunday roast type meal.

Just in case it was crossed wires and might cheer you up!

Why are nursery/school workers all such bitches?

Cause they have to look after children all day 🤣🤣🤣🤣

(Only joking I don’t know if they’re all bitches really…..🤣)
