How to enjoy my stressful job for 5 years?

I have a stressful job - day to day stuff is ok , but it’s a small company. They are constantly looking for ways to cost cut and doing restructuring. I don’t intend to move as it’s fully remote, which is rare in my field. Also, I plan to retire or at least go part time after 5 years.

how do I cope / enjoy this job and not let the stress affect me so much.

Lots of people gave a stressful job. Focus on the positives (good salary, close to retirement, work is honest and not hurting you or anyone else) and relieve your stress outside of the job. Read. Paint. Travel. Do yoga. Learn an instrument. Volunteer in a role you find rewarding. See friends. Run. Kickbox. Garden. Write a journal. Do crossword puzzles.

Your job is a big part of your life, but it shouldn't be the only thing in it.

Give yourself small daily rewards. Set reachable goals that take an hour or two to complete, and after each one, have a stretch and make a coffee or take a 5 minute break to feed the birds or do some yoga.

Remind yourself why you love working from home. Literally. Say it out loud to yourself when you can get the wash load sorted or the dinner on during your lunch break, giving you more free time at the end of the day, or are home to greet DC from school.

Do something fun when you would otherwise have to be commuting - an online class or a walk in nature or read a book.
