Initially I held back at the thought of boycotting an American product or service too.

But then it occurred to me that I could just cancel Amazon - the decision was suddenly a lot easier.

Note - I know nothing about economics. I am happy to be told by anyone who does about the potential downsides of taking these actions.

Posting in case it inspires others to do the same.

Can’t lie, I’ll always choose golden syrup over maple syrup. But Google directs me to a lot of Canadian dill pickles. That’ll def do.

Google? Ah feck. Do I need to start to decouple from Google too? That seems like hard work. I do love their maps app.

Many of Google’s own staff have engaged in protests about their services increasingly being used for, or linked to, the facilitation of human rights violations, in case it’s of interest to you/ you want to start finding alternatives where you can. There’s a good NYT article you can search from December if so.

Thanks, I’ll take a look. I logged onto NYT earlier this morning and was surprised to find I still have a subscription. Guess that’s part of games app package.
