What symptoms did your DC have after the 12 month vaccines?

Hi,

FYI I'm not anti vax or trying to spread hatred for the vaccine.

My daughter received her 12 month jabs on Thursday and has been throwing up since then. She threw up twice on Thursday and once today. Is completely off of her food, has a mild fever and is irritable. I expected the irritability and fever but didn't expect her to throw up. Is this normal?

She does attend nursery so could it just be that she's got a bug at the same time as getting the vaccine?

Thanks,

Very likely to be a bug OP
Usually it’s fever and irritability

If you weren't given a leaflet with the side effects you'll be able to find one online. Make sure it's the NHS version obviously! I don't remember vomiting being on the list but it's been a while. If she's at nursery then I'd say that's the more likely culprit. Hope she feels better soon.

Mine did get a very high temp a week to ten days after, that's common with the MMR, just to give you a heads up you may have more fun to come.

@BarbaraHoward although not what I want to hear I do appreciate the honesty!

The timing of her being sick straight after did make me wonder. I thought she may have reacted by throwing up to the vaccine. I've read the leaflet online that doesn't state vomiting so just wanted to be sure she's not reacting to the vaccine with sickness. She does have a dairy allergy so I'm more cautious although I know it doesn't contain dairy (obviously).

She's also got a cough so probably is viral. Oh the joys of (early) parenting! just when your child gets their appetite back from the endless nursery bugs and teething something else occurs!

It's a brutal time, there was one year that there wasn't a single week between September and Christmas that we both managed to work five days. They're older now though and never sick!

Dairy allergy must be so tough to manage.
