Currently paying rent and new house mortgage payment..bought a house couple of weeks ago planned to move in next 5 weeks. Builder ripped bathroom and today he says he’s ill, yesterday he insisted I give him about £400 his balance is £2600.. have a feeling he wouldn’t continue the work and truly I don’t want him too, because he’s initially stated he would do the job with two other then he change saying he will be the only one doing the job. He is slow and can see him taking 3 to weeks off n his own . But I’m in a mess and don’t know if I can find someone quickly to do the job. Where can I look for bathrooms fitter I have all materials ready?

Did you by chance pay by credit card? Could get it back, otherwise, your local trading standards would be my first port if he doesn't complete the work. They can do all sorts (not to get your money back) to detriment their business, which is sometimes threat enough for them to do the job they have been paid for

Perhaps try a local trades site like this one. I found a gas fitter here.
