My 6yo child was awarded for some good work 2 weeks ago, in assembly they was named and stood at the front. They was supposed to be given a certificate but apparently the head teacher hadn’t done them.
Fast Forward 2 weeks and after my child asking multiple times when they will get their certificate I asked the teacher.
The teachers response was the HT was ‘too busy to do them’. I did say that’s a shame as my child was so happy and proud to be awarded and this is really demoralising. The teacher said ‘sorry but people are busy’.
I’m pretty annoyed, we are a working family with 2 children (one with complex needs) so I get busy for sure. But even though I am busy we still read daily, complete homework on time, send child to school on time, send them in with PE kit, Wellies, Forest school clothes, whatever is needed on whatever day,
AIBU to complain? Surely the HT only needs to sign them? Seems pointless that the children are not rewarded properly for their efforts.
