New neighbours moved in last summer, seem nice enough, installed AC. Fair enough, their choice.

Problem is that where it's positioned it vibrates through the wall and creates this weird hum all through the house, especially loud at night. My kid sleeps in that room and wakes up, and so do we in the next room over, because you can hear it everywhere. Tried having a friendly chat, which went nowhere.

Coming into this summer and I'm so stressed about it all. AIBU to ask them to move it (again) when they've already ignored me when I've asked. And what can I really do about it? It drove us bonkers last summer.

Report it to council and environment health - you can download an app to your phone that record ms the number of decibels - put your phone to the wall and record it and email it to environmental health.

Annoyingly I don't think that it's loud enough. It's the vibration and humming that drove us crazy. At night it's louder but still probably not enough to trigger a noise complaint.

There are various regulations about heat pumps air con is the same thing only going the other way round.

I would talk to building regs/planning

As above. Seek help from the local authority experts.
