To not understand what's happening with these new runways?

Watching the news now, it seems they're adding a runway (at heathrow) and plan to demolish people's homes??????? But there's a housing crisis??

So, we've done the ulez and want to pedestrianise everywhere but its fine to add more runways??

I don't necessarily agree if it's a good idea but it's about reducing wait / circling time and adding capacity so Heathrow remains competitive as a main European hub. Listen to few longer news bulletins and you'll pick it up.

ULEZ is about raising revenue, NOT saving the environment.

Compulsory purchase orders are very common, HS2 took houses, farms, woodland,.the lot.

"The Environment" is a great way for Government to raise tax revenue. It's something most people don't understand, "experts" can be dragged out to make anyone who objects to the taxes look foolish.

Think about it,.the solution to all."environmental: issues is money.

Too much smog . . . Tax it.

Too much plastic . . . Tax it.

Too much pollution. . . Tax it.

Not enough to make anybody stop doing those things of course, but enough so they will pay the tax and generate a steady income stream.

How is HS2 coming along

And whats the revenue from HS1 while we're at it?
