Winning the Lottery

LottoWinner · 29/01/2025 17:01

I'm winning the double rollover tonight - got my ticket and feeling spectacularly lucky. Previous tickets I've hoped to win haven't come through, so I'm going into tonight with confidence and seeing if that makes a difference.

Planned out my winnings which covers the 5 mil ~ dream house purchase, enough to invest and draw on for a decent style of living for the rest of my life, helping family/friends clear their mortgages/debt. Buying a Birkin 😎

AIBU to ask what I'd be sending you with some of the rest? I have about £400,000 to play with, though want to spread it around a bit. Only overly indulgent gifts you'd never buy yourself but secretly really, really want are allowed.

I'll have a Mr Frosty, a kids from Fame T Shirt (with the gold writing) and one of those little toy vending machines that served up tiny bars of Dairy Milk.

Asked bloody Santa for these for many years, left the Argos book circled and everything but he insisted on bringing me scratchy Aran Jumpers, a Kilt and a dress coat. Nothing wrong with them but to be clear, we are not and never were, Scottish. My Mother did however have delusions of Grandeur and visions of us dressed as some sort of minor royal children for Christmas Day mass. Sigh.

I'm impressed with your determined manifestation - best of luck!

This thread is so so lovely 😍

Thank you for starting it @LottoWinner

I can't really express it well but it's such a tonic seeing everyone sharing their indulgences and the warm and generous idea of it actually touches me more than any material thing.

I'd want to make people happy if I had money too.

Much love ❤️

No worries! I'm having a lot of fun googling everyone's wishes and figuring out where to buy my genie suit. Assuming you're all pretty spread out I'll need to do a UK tour to drop everything off, which will be fine as it'll be in my sparkly new car 😂

I’m planning on winning the Omaze house this weekend, fancy popping over to celebrate our success?

If it's the Norfolk one, I'm afraid I have already placed first dibs on that in the Manifesting Arms Race 😂

DazzlingCuckoos · 29/01/2025 17:45

I would buy a shit tonne of lego for the lego room I'd be installing in my new mansion.

Oh - and Jo Malone candles - the big three wick ones.

Generally I'd love to just be able to buy the ideal thing I want or need and not spend ages searching around for the best deal or the cheapest price.

I do the John Lewis "win my wishlist" competition every month and my wishlist is full of all the frivolous things I'd love to buy if I just had the spare cash to throw at it.

I would get Claudia's full wardrobe for The Traitors. I'm on a diet so please could you send them to me now and then send the same again in the autumn, but in a smaller size? Thanks!

Yes! Apart from the weird beige jumper with red roses horror

Could I have a Rise&Fall cashmere scarf/throw in Viridian please. I have a pink one that I love already and to be honest could afford another but can’t justify it. But it’s a perfect lottery win gift.

Will do the same for you when I win in a few weeks.

Gosh that's beautiful. I'd love a red one.

Oh my, a genie in a sparkly new car rocking up would utterly make my day 😍

I have everything crossed for your big win 🤩

You're all dreaming. I am going to be the winner. I have seen it in a dream... 😂

Allthebrokenplaces · 29/01/2025 17:49

I can't be doing with the faff of doing up my house, so could you help with the garden please?
I'd like a home office at the end, with a secret sunken hot tub (so I can be relaxing when the fam think I am working). A tunnel for the cat from house to office, so he can visit me without going out in the rain.
The rest of the garden I'd like done Japanese style, a couple of water features, bridges, Japanese cat tunnel and a mini teahouse/library.
Good luck tonight OP, I'll bow out of winning this time and hope you get a chance to make some mumsnet dreams come true.

B2T · 29/01/2025 17:49

Please can I have a trip to a dude ranch in Montana, top of my bucket list. You are welcome to join.

biscuitcat · 29/01/2025 17:39

I'll take a Faberge Egg locket please - my favourite one is about £44k but I'm not greedy, one of the bargain basement £12k ones would be nearly as nice...

OMG, okay I'm getting one of these too - the panda one! But obviously you're getting the £44k one - imagine owning a £12k piece of jewellery and having a niggling feeling it's not the one you want!

Please pay for me to go private to get my glass back fixed 🙏🏻

And a nice holiday ☀️

Ah no, someone beat me to it!
I have wanted a Mulberry bag for a very, very long time.
I know which one , it is the Mulberry Bayswater in tan leather.
Spendy though I know.
Good luck for tonight anyway @LottoWinner .

No one said there could only be one mulberry bag owner! You can totally have one too 😉

Can I get a new bed for just sleeping with DDOG?

CleansUpButWouldPreferNotTo · 29/01/2025 17:52

Please nicely could you get rid of nasty next door and buy that house for me so my DH who has a life-limiting condition can end his days in peace? I'm so sick of needing police intervention, for the most ridiculous things like they put dead birds in our bins and ring our doorbell at 6am. Apart from next door, the rest of the community is so lovely, friendly and helpful, and we're old so we don't want to move!

Oh, and a pair of 1ct emerald-cut diamond stud earrings please..

NellyCortado · 29/01/2025 17:52

Love this OP!

A vintage emerald and diamond ring would be amazing please.

Thank you so much Flowers

Absolutely! I had the same thing circled in my Argos catalog and never got it, so we'll have to get two. We'll need to also find the old Cadbury recipe and commission a chocolatier to recreate the little pieces, because I cannot get on board with the new recipe 😂

I can't spring for the mansion unfortunately (unless I win the Euros too 😉) but I'll get the Lego and the candles! 🤞

Very superficial I know but a boob reduction and a tummy tuck please.

I have had boobs since the age of 10 and after 3 kids without a bra I can took them in my socks 😂

Gulbekian · 29/01/2025 17:55

That's so nice of you! Thank you in advance.

I'd very much appreciate a teak Lutyens bench for my garden.

Actually, no need to buy the house for me, just move in yourself because you sound absolutely lovely, OP!

Which just leaves the diamond earrings..

Somethingsnapped · 29/01/2025 17:58

Ooh, please may I have one or more of the following....

A camper van (second hand is fine)
A holiday to Iceland for my whole family
A long sheepskin coat from Celtic & Co
An Irish wolfhound.

Thank you soooo much xx

NewHeaven · 29/01/2025 17:58

A bottle of Tom Ford's Grey Vetiver Perfume, please. Thanks very much.
