Yet another child abuse article

Not a day goes by without another article on the BBC about mass cases of child abuse, rape or both.
What the fuck is wrong with humanity?
I feel such anger when I read these stories, most times I can’t even read until the end as it’s shocking and abhorrent behaviour.
AIBU to think that not enough is being done to tackle what really seems like a crisis?

I agree Op. I read something yesterday on the BBC that happened close to where I grew up and I couldn't stop thinking about those poor children for hours.

What I don't understand is why news outlets publish such vivid details of what has happened to these children? Surely the terms 'child abused' or 'rape' would let the public know what has happened without these awful mental images. Who actually wants or needs details?
