Panicking about pizza

I’m panicking.

went shopping before and when I was putting the food in the fridge I got distracted and accidentally chucked a new mini pizza out instead of the one dated the 25th Jan. I’ve just made the kids tea and my 4yo has eaten the out of date pizza. I’m petrified that he’s going to be ill.
do you think he will be ok? It was cheese and tomato??

Rule in our house: if it smells ok and looks ok then ignore the use by date

It will be fine, it was cooked so that would kill any viruses and there is so much salt in the bread, sauce, and cheese it wouldn't be mouldy after three days. It might taste a bit stale but shouldn't make your DS sick.

Anxiety is horrid. I hope the therapy helps.

You really need more help for your anxiety. You will pass it on to your kid.

OCD and HA here and I wouldn’t worry about that.

A Pizza Express Margherita contains salt, sugar and lemon juice, all of which preserve the pizza beyond the use-by date. I wouldn't do it with seafood or chicken, and probably not anchovies (though they are salty enough to make your hair curl😁) but cheese and tomato is safe enough. Use-by dates are often quite rough, and don't indicate that the item in question will start to go off at the witching hour of the given date.

You must be fit to kick yourself over the discarded new pizza though - it's so easily done, but really annoying!

I'm 99.99% sure he'll be fine

I’m 100%

Meanwhile, the peanut butter's still out here living its best life.
