14 degrees currently. Georgian flat in Scotland. Dehumidifier sitting at 45, meaning that the humidity isn't too high. I don't actually feel too cold, thanks to my Oodie, but have just popped the heating on for a couple of hours anyway.
Exciting Sunday night chat, while I put off the chores for a bit longer Grin

18 degrees here in NI. Whacked the heating up after being without power for 2 days due to the storm. We were absolutely freezing!

yhn · 26/01/2025 19:36

21 degrees. I can't stand being cold.

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 26/01/2025 19:37

I have mine set to 18 or 19.

JMSA · 26/01/2025 19:38

Thanks for humouring me Grin

18 degrees, because that's what the NHS recommends as the minimum temperature to stay well in winter.

Littletreefrog · 26/01/2025 19:38

17.4 and it's perfectly pleasant on just a jumper. DS is in only shorts. We have just moved house and we are all enjoying the draught proof ness of this house

Nice one! Is it a toasty new-build?

Set to 22 5.30am-9.30pm 17 in between

EveryOtherNameTaken · 26/01/2025 19:39

19 atm.

Not a new build but roughly 100 years newer than our old house which had huge gaps around the windows. Sometimes it seemed windier in the house than outside.

anythingbutlillies · 26/01/2025 19:41

19.8
It's set for 20.

I decided this year to keep the heating on all day with the thermostat set to 18, rather than switching it on when it got too cold. I haven't noticed a difference in usage and have felt warm at all times. Boosted it v occasionally when needed.

TheFoz · 26/01/2025 19:45

21 in sitting room/kitchen areas. 18 in bedrooms. I wouldn’t have it any lower.

Does it really? Well that is a great argument to present to DH then when he'd rather have heating off completely! Thanks 👌

We wrestled over control of thermostat earlier, I won. Currently it's a balmy 16.5 in our bedroom (slightly warmer in the toddlers room).

Youngheartsalittletogetherness · 26/01/2025 19:50

19 ..Ne Scotland.

JMSA · 26/01/2025 19:50

I'm never sure what to do vis à vis the heating. Is it better to keep it on low-ish all day, or just have it on for a few hours at a not much higher temperature anyway?
We're mostly out at school/work through the day.
I'm on a variable tariff and it does genuinely make me wonder 🤔

20 . Upstairs is 21 first thing and 17 from 10 pm till 6.30 am. The house is a new build though and seems to hold the heat well.

Wheech · 26/01/2025 19:51

18.5. I have run a bit riot of late. The last couple of years I don't generally go above 17 degrees. That's the hall temperature so living room is a bit warmer.

I used to keep it at 22. Those were the days.

Youngheartsalittletogetherness · 26/01/2025 19:52

And no heating on .. we're lucky warm flat generally.

Temporaryname158 · 26/01/2025 19:52

15, I’ve now put it on for a few hours to try and warm it up

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 26/01/2025 19:52

Tolstoy, and to be honest, it's getting a bit wearing, it droning on in the background about Russia et al.
We're more of a Jilly Cooper household and just hoping it's not going to start on Anna Karenina next.
Roll on summer when we can switch the blasted thing off, I say.

DappledOliveGroves · 26/01/2025 19:52

22 degrees here. I hate being cold.

Likewhatever · 26/01/2025 20:09

Set for 19 all day and 20 for the evening till 8pm. I’m experimenting, to see if this is as economical as having it on the timer.

Sinkintotheswamp · 26/01/2025 20:13

Set at 21°.
My bedroom is exactly 21° too.

TheOpalReader · 26/01/2025 20:15

17/18° but my thermostat is in the coldest part of the house so the living room/bedrooms are always warmer than that. I'd say probably 20ish.

GrazeConcern · 26/01/2025 20:19

Have it set to 18 when we turn it on. It’s currently reading 16.4 in the hall where it is but our bedroom must be much warmer as I just got changed after a shower and didn’t feel cold at all.
