What does your thermostat read?

14 degrees currently. Georgian flat in Scotland. Dehumidifier sitting at 45, meaning that the humidity isn't too high. I don't actually feel too cold, thanks to my Oodie, but have just popped the heating on for a couple of hours anyway.
Exciting Sunday night chat, while I put off the chores for a bit longer Grin

Thermostat is showing 15 in uk home but currently about 26 in apartment where I am😅 snowy eu country! Apparently very normal to have your home warm here.

Snowmanscarf · 26/01/2025 20:57

Set for 20. Usually around 19.

Alabas · 26/01/2025 20:57

17-18 during the day, 15 at night. Draughty Georgian house, but we live in London so it rarely gets too cold. I like to keep a window a crack open at night and a quick airing in the morning too downstairs!

I don’t think our house could ever reach 20!

Oh you poor thing. Are you in Scotland?

No. Ireland.

MrsSkylerWhite · 26/01/2025 21:04

Probably about 14 but I’m happily in bed watching telly with cats as footwarmers 😁

lljkk · 26/01/2025 21:07

15 or 16 unless the heating is on for at least 12 hours.

OchonAgusOchonOh · 26/01/2025 21:03

No. Ireland.

Ah. I'm in Scotland and a few people I know have had power cuts. I charged up as much as I can but the one thing I knew I wouldn't be able to manage was the heating. I feel for you.

Fontainebleau007 · 26/01/2025 21:10

OchonAgusOchonOh · 26/01/2025 20:48

Currently 8 degrees 😫

Still don't have electricity or water or mobile signal since the storm on Friday. They're currently estimating out will take another 10 days.

Feel for you 😢 ours came back last night luckily, it went down to 2 degrees in here, we had to send our children away with family 😢Our friends power was estimated to come back on the 3rd Feb but came on this evening so I live in hope for you x

SnowyIcySnow · 26/01/2025 21:11

Thermostat set to 15.5.
That makes the livingroom 18, and my bedroom 17. Those are the only rooms I can monitor tho.

And since the heating goes off overnight, Those temperatures drop, but that doesn't stop me waking up roasting at 3.30.....

Chasingsquirrels · 26/01/2025 21:12

19°c in lounge atm.
I've got my fake-oodie on and a fleecy blanket, and the dog on my feet.

Section 4 (page 34) of the World Health Organisation guidelines is what you need for that discussion!

Excellent! Most grateful 🤩

RIPVPROG · 26/01/2025 21:23

18 , heating went off at 7:30, DH is in the bath and I'm sitting on our bed so I'm quite cosy. The thermostat is also downstairs (which is currently a building site) and it's always warmer up here so probably 19/20 where I am

KenAdams · 26/01/2025 21:24

21.5 in the day and 18 overnight. I've always felt the cold though.

User2123 · 26/01/2025 21:26

We just turn ours on and off as needed, but I think if is set to turn itself off once it reaches 16. I start to feel really flushed if it gets any warmer. Usually sits around 13-14 in the day time then we pop it on about 5 or 6pm then off again 8 or 9pm.

Vettrianofan · 26/01/2025 21:32

20c but there's no heating in the house (boiler broke two days ago).

Thelnebriati · 26/01/2025 21:36

15, the heating hasn't come on and the house is well insulated. I've got warm clothes and heating pads, a warm light lamp and a couple of candles. It feels ok and looks cosy without the main light on.

Joystir59 · 26/01/2025 21:39

20 degrees here as it's a new build and that's the recommended ambient temperature.

MoodySky · 26/01/2025 22:39

19th century fiction mostly, but occasionally crime novels.

JustAboutMuddlingThrough · 26/01/2025 23:02

14.8 atm but that's only because I'm laid with the electric heater blasting onto me so it's warmed my bedroom up slightly. It was 11.1 earlier because I've got no central heating or hot water atm

DIRECTDORIS · 26/01/2025 23:25

22
i have to keep it at 20-22 degrees as we are a neurodivergent household and all has sensory issues(3 of us) so cant(wont) wear many clothes

i have to heat the house not the person

its set to come on as soon as it hits 18 and off when it reaches 21 so never cold here

when its not winter its different circumstances i set it to no lower than 15 but heating never kicks in

we have fans then as being overheated as a sensory issue as well

but its usually end of sept to early may as im rural Wales and live on the edge of 3 forests(yes really)so we are well out in nature

its beautiful here in summer and autumn

EDITTED its a big 3 bedroom house

mmmarmalade · 26/01/2025 23:36

18C during the day until about 5-6pm, then I knock it up to 19C - the heating goes off at about 10pm and is back on at about 7am.

I wear merino wool base layers for leggings and top (under joggers and a t+cardi) all the time ATM.

MargaretThursday · 26/01/2025 23:37

42F

it's badly callibrated.

Vettrianofan · 27/01/2025 07:20

Can't wait for the boiler to get fixed so I can wash my hands under hot water! And shower. And do dishes without boiling a kettle!

Thank you. My cousin's was also estimated at 5th February but his came back last night so here's hoping they'll get us done sooner too.

Dotto · 27/01/2025 11:22

16C. Heating not on since last night. Will set it to 19.5C from 4pm for five hours or so.
