Deliveroo substitutions...

Ordered a deliveroo grocery shop for an unwell relative this eve. I was always under the impression that substitutions were meant to be similar. Aka no wharburtons bread so give you another brand. No large bag of cashews, so give you two small ones instead. NOT substituting a ready meal of mac and cheese with a ready meal of curry, plain sparkling water with fruit flavoured sparkling water, and a bunch of bananas with a bag of oranges? Can you get a refund on these as they arent appropriate subs? Or is it my fault for not specifying that they shouldn't sub (honestly thought they would just sub with a similar product) or remove from order.

Those are at least vaguely similar substitution - so fruit for fruit, water for water etc. There's definitely weirder ones

But you should have been able to refuse substitutions on delivery I think?

This is the big downside of Deliveroo Hop. Instant coffee instead of ground coffee; bag of green beans for broccoli, no sub when you can see they list 2 types of things
