To ask what my odds of winning are?

Own my home now but taking previous landlord to court as they didn't protect my deposit, and they never paid me a penny of it back despite me giving notice, paying all rent and not damaging the property.

Lied to me about it being protected when it's quite easy to verify online. Contacted a solicitor and after months and months I've got a court hearing for mid-Feb.

Just wondered what my odds are and what I'd be likely to get? I read they'd be obliged to pay me within 14 days of the hearing, I really could do with the money.
Surely if it's proven they've broken the law then they don't have a leg to stand on?

I chased them up many times for it, to be told 'we're processing the payment', threatened legal action and still nothing. This was 10 months ago and I've not seen a penny of the deposit. Don't want them to just keep getting away with it.

Surely your solicitor knows the answers?

Your solicitor should have given you advice on your prospects of success - if not ask them now for an assessment of prospects.

In general, people are successful in having deposits returned when they haven’t been placed in a scheme but much depends on your circumstances.
