Hi all, looking for some advice what to except. Im on universal credit. I work also, ive sent it 4 months bank statements etc and just waiting to hear back anything. My payments and wages are the same each month not alot going in other than family members sending money or my childrens fathers family member was sending some weekly from october till about first of december just not huge amount but regulary, this was to help at the time to pay for bits for birthdays/christmas. Obviously no payment since then, do they question this? I obvioulsy will be honest explain a family member but do you need to go into more detail? Anyone with experience?

I recently had my review. They only questioned larger payments (over £200) from a friend and a family member. A quick explanation, in my case I had lent, and then received the money back from someone, and I had ordered something online for a family member which they had sent the money over for.
They didn't question any other money I had received. Apparently money from friends and family is disregarded anyway. Hope this helps.

Hi thankyou so much for your reply, did they go into it much detail i mean do you have to prove there a family member etc or does it not go that deep? I think if it was alot more money they could look at it different but im just going say its was there to help/support children for a couple of weeks, it will show on the statement when the stopped anyway xx

Gifts of money from family/friends are disregarded as long as they don't increase the total money you have to £6k or more.

Thankyou, so if asked just should be a quick explanation who and why? The money was spent as sent weekly to be honest so none of it was saved anyway so definatley under 6k. Think the totally from 4 months would off come to 800 x
