I have to ask as I've health anxiety rooted in a fear that my kids will be left alone in f anything happens me.
I am
50 have high blood pressure when stressed. Resting g blood pressure is perfect .
I also have ibs. For the last week I've been really nauseated with niggling pains at top of my stomach to the right . My appetite has gone to nothing but I've eaten fat for the first time in a week about an hour ago and feel fine.
My left hand gets numbness and tingling at the finger tips EAP if I've been lying on that hand.
And I have a headache at the top of my head for a few days.
My words are getting a bit
Confused in that I cannot
Pronounce some words properly and now I'm so stressed about all of this, I think there's something seriously wrong with me.
For context , one of my friends has a really aggressive form of cancer and after only being diagnosed a month, it
Looks like she has weeks to live... my age, single
Parent also. This has tipped me .
Dr was cool about it all. Booked me
In for
Ultrasound of abdomen but wasn't too bothered about anything else . Just monitor blood pressure for a month and some nexium and stemetil.

It's good that you're being thoroughly checked over. If all the results come back normal then consider that this is all founded in anxiety - it can cause very real physical symptoms.

Thanks. I agree. My bp is perfect apart from when I'm stressed so that's so telling. I hate feeling like this .

Everyone gets pins and needles when laying on a hand. And lots of people have a headache for a few days occasionally (like me in the summer when occasionally dehydrated) you've been to the doc and it's in hand - not sure what you want from this thread.

Just to add stress and worry are a huge factor in heart problems and are linked to cancer too - this stress and worry about potentially nothing is not doing you any favours. Maybe focus on that flip side.

I do meditation and lots of different mindfulness exercises to help me but feel overwhelmed in life generally and cannot seem to manage stress. When I hear bad news or even get a twinge , I spiral completely.

I see you mentioned health anxiety, and I know that can be crippling at times for some. So me saying, just ignore it all won't help.

Have you considered talking about health anxiety to a professional? I think it's really important to try and get that under control.

In the meantime, remind yourself, you've seen a professional, who has assessed your symptoms, is happy for you to wait for ultrasound and didn't suggest anything sinister is going on.

Learning about your friend is impacting your mental health, and understandably you are going to be upset by the news.

Not sure if my post is helpful, but I hope you do find a way to ease the anxiety.

Try to up your water intake as a lot of the time dehydration is the cause of headaches

Anxiety is awful and it can be a terrible liar - making things that aren't real seem terrifyingly real. You need to find a way to regulate yourself - go for a run, play a musical instrument, spend time in good company, watch funny films and videos. If you are getting physical things checked out there's literally no point in worrying about it the rest of the time. If you insist on focusing on the source of your anxiety, allow yourself half an hour a day when you focus on it and the rest of the time get absorbed in something to distract yourself. Give yourself permission not to worry for 23 hours a day on the basis that you will do all your worrying later in your allotted hour.
