I know this is mumsnet but ever been a bit cheesed off when you're seated next to mums, with prams etc or toddlers being toddlers went you want quiet lunch chat with friends. Young children zones maybe?

YABU. Other people, including babies and toddlers, are allowed to exist in public spaces. Have lunch at home if you want to dictate who is and isn't allowed there.

I'm a miserable old man and am very happy to be sat near young uns. Unless mother and father ignore bad behaviour. I was sat on a plane last week with a little girl about 4 behind me, playing a game in her tablet quietly. I could hear the occasional ping. Once in a while she kicked my chair...so what. She was well behaved and quietly enjoying herself

I'd rather be sat near children than miserable people.

Remorsefully, restaurant was near empty and we could have moved a few tables from the booked one. 😊Babies were enjoying themselves quietly.
