To expect DH to look at his phone occasionally?

Feeling a bit abandoned and unloved here.

DH is working away, some 400 miles away. Four year old unwell, and I’ve taken to out of hours.

I get there’s nothing he can do but I messaged hours ago and nothing. I know he’s seven hours away and can’t do much but AIBU to expect him to check in on how we are?

Depends how busy they are they may not have had a minute to look.

Yes, unless there is some really good reason for him not getting back to you yet that is very poor behaviour by your DH.

I hope your wee one is feeling a bit better soon.

Could you not phone at a time you know he is not working?

No reason he couldn't type back a quick ' oh no! Let me know how it goes'

What's his working pattern? I'd ring when he's not working.
